Having body side moldings fixed on my 2009 extra cab they are coming off. Rattle in headliner, broken power port cap is being replaced. We will see if they do anything about air leaks coming in through the doors.

I have not had any issues with lifter noise or oil consumption problems. I get and average of 17 MPG in the city and HWY driving. If i keep my foor out of it I can push it to 17.8 to 17.9. I have 23,500 miles on it.

Where is the rattle coming from around the headliner? I almost can gaurentee its the foam coming lose. Happened 3x's on mine and the tech told me he's seen it a lot on our trucks.

I have not taken it back to get work done, they have ordered the new molding and have to paint them. They told me the it's the foam coming loose, it rattles near the dome light on mine.

In no particular order...

1. Slip yoke replaced due to clunking rear end

2. AC fan/blower replaced because of fluttering noise on speed 2

3. Squeaky weather stripping replaced with non-squeak version

4. Rattling passenger seatbelt anchor replaced

5. Passenger auto door lock replaced after it quit working

6. Front bumper adjusted because it was mounted crooked.

7. Exterior rear window trim replaced 'cause it was real loose.

Mostly minor nit-picks

6 months and only only 1200 miles, but I've had zero problems..well, other than a small rock chip on the front of the hood...... :)

Seems to have fixed it. No more clunking when stopped. I have experience 1 clunck since repair, but that was getting back on the gas after letting off, and was at an awkward speed kinda between 1st and 2nd gear.

None so far for my 2009.

Same here. Seats did give me an intermittent problem but they have work fine for two winters.

I totally agree. i recently bought a NBS 2008 Sierra Crew Cab and I have all of these issues. Though I still think the transmission thing is something more. While I love the overall upgrade in "look" of quality over the old style I must admit I liked the old seats and controls better. IDK maybe this is just me being stubborn but i miss my old '06 Denali... :jester:

So, I'm getting many problems with my truck lately and thought we should all come together and talk about some things that have been going wrong with our nbs trucks..

Heres a list of my problems:

- Transmission (Jerks from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 1st delay after coming to stop)

- Inside plastic starting to come off

- Water inside of both front headlights

- Passenger wiper heated windshield fluid not going through

- Brakes squeak in mornings

UPDATE:

- Gas gauge acts weird sometimes

Anybody else had wonky heater TEMPS?

I live in Wisco. (GO PACK!!!) sorry couldn't resist...

Anyway I've had this problem before. Can't I just poke it with a stick or hit it with a hammer a. la. Jeremy Clarkson??!!

I'm reasonably technically competent but this is a truck after all... If it was supposed to be treated like glass I might have bought a Tundra like my father (against my diligent protest!) :jester:

any help would be great guys

Cheers

UPDATE:

- Gas gauge acts weird sometimes

Theres a bulletin on this.....

Document ID# 2044304

2007 Chevrolet Silverado - 4WD

Subject: Fuel Gauge Erratic In Freezing Temperatures P0463 - keywords cluster cold flat gage inaccurate intermittent IPC level sender #PIT4294D - (12/11/2007)

Models:

2007 Chevrolet Silverado

2007 GMC Sierra

With One Of The Following Engine RPO's: LY2, LY5, LY6, LH6, L76, L92

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

The fuel gauge is erratic and displays the incorrect fuel level in freezing weather.

Example concerns:

The fuel tank is ¾ full. While driving, the fuel gauge gradually starts to display a lower fuel level, beyond the reduction that is due to engine fuel consumption. The fuel gauge may subsequently recover to an accurate fuel level display.

After being parked in below-freezing weather, the vehicle is started and the fuel gauge displays a reading of "E". With driving, the gauge reading may slowly recover towards the actual fuel level. If the ignition is then cycled, the fuel gauge may now display the actual fuel level.

Note: A P0463 Diagnostic Trouble Code may or may not be set. If it is set, the fuel gauge is commanded to "E".

The condition is related to excess water in non-ethanol fuel at below-freezing temperatures causing ice crystals in the fuel which interferes with the proper operation of the fuel level sender.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Updated fuel level sensors, with a shield to help protect from icing, are now available. Use the chart below to obtain the updated part:

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

I agree. My family has had 4 GM Yukon XL's with ZERO problems. And I'm not a GM fanboy per say, though I love the new "Slades (my mom has a new one). Thus I bought a used 2008 GMC 1500 CC Sierra and its been a bit of a fighter. now I recognize that any used car will present problems. But really, not warming up/blowing frozen air on a sub zero day all the 20 min to work... Thats a bit crazy... I also have this very weird belt squeak at running temp when using the engine/ accelerating. I love my Vortec and non of my families other cars have ever had problems with this issue. Just wondering if anybody could tell me of a an imminent belt failure...

Anyway I hate to be a nay sayer but I'm beginning to think I should have bought a new GM product or a used FORD truck...

SORRY!

I Just like my trucks to work as hard as I do...

Cheers

I guess I have been lucky, for my 2001 Suburban it never had any big issues at all. The only one was wind noise at highway speeds, and that got fixed. Other than that it had no other problems the entire time I owned it (2001-2006). And so far(knock on wood)on my 2006 3/4ton I have had no problems at all. I mean nothing has gone wrong at all. The only thing that came up was a P0300 which is due to my performane PCM being in, and that has only came up 2 times in the 7000+ miles I have on this truck. Once I get the crank relearn done I will be good to go.

Last year two months after getting my truck the CHECK AIRBAG message came on...fixed that..was a wireing problem on the B pillar drivers site...was not connected correctly... :jester:

Now since a few weeks the passengers heated seat goes off after one minute....

And the best is that the turning signal on the left side goes crazy and runs in fast forward mode :M16:

Btw. the truck is 7 months old and got 15600km on it...
