How Many Problems Have You Had With Your GMT-900?

2007 Avalanche LT 4x4. 46k miles.

Issues:

- 4wd actuator failed at 30k, replaced under warranty

- Started motor failing, waiting for warmer weather to replace

Whines:

- Chrome peeling on all interior door handles, I need to take it in for the recall on this

- Clunk on turns, really bothered me at first, but after reading up on it determined it wasn't worth chasing

- Rough 2-1 shifts when cold

- Mediocre economy, all freeway commute, averaging 17 mpg. My daily-driver Honda gets 5 mpg over EPA on the same commute.

- Crappy OEM Goodyear tires, they were the upgraded factory tires, had two blowout at around 36k with lots of usable tread left.

- Rail rust on tailgate

Overall been a good truck, much better than my POS Colorado crew that almost made me leave GM. The failing starter is frustrating, it's intermittent and a good tap fixes it at this point. Seems too new to need a starter.

Ive had mine since August 2010 I believe had 18k on it and now has 28k on it( I love this truck)

Only issue so far is the plastic seatbelt cover for the metal ring on the passenger side keeps falling off. Also the Dark seats are hard to keep the lint off of.

Edit= Darn back tires keep loosing rubber.

Battery dieing every so often for no apparent reason.

After last battery drain, truck would not start (no crank)

After 3 days diagnosis at dealer, main fuse block needs to be replaced because there is an internal open circuit between starter relay and fuse.

Squeeking driver side window, molding repaced.

LOL!!

I hear ya, my gas pedal keeps sticking to the floor for extended periods of time causing excessive fuel usage, thus embarrassing nearby lesser vehicles. :)

1.) One rear drum that squeaks

2.) Squeaking driver side window motor on really cold days

3.) AFM has slight vibration between 60-70 (dealer says its normal)

4.) Stop Clunk, dealer fixed.. Probably gonna return, but has happened to every GM truck I've owned!

#1 Leaking transmission pump seal

#2 Leaking oil pan

#3 Rattling doors

#4 5 blown speakers

#5 Radio that doesn't light up

I had #1 fixed by the dealer. But they refused to fix my oil pan as the oil has to really leak alot. (wheres the line drawn?). I lose about half a liter every change.

My speaker in the passenger door stopped working.

Radio that doesn't light up?

I thought that was an issue with pre-2007 gm vehicles. hmmm.

Looks like the 2 of you should get together and give your trucks back and get another or try another brand.

On a lighter note:

6100miles since July1 2010 and a BIG FAT 0 problems just like many here.

I have a 07 NBS Z71 reg cab and I have been pretty lucky so far. The one thing I have had go wrong was I have to replace the rear driver side leaf spring. For some reason the bottom leaf has snapped. I haven't had anything heavy in the truck and haven't hit anything either...normal use. Anyone else had this problem? I went in to the local suspension place and they told me that this is the 4th newer GM truck they have seen with the same problem. The leaf spring itself is gunna run me around $600 then $270 in labour...so $900 for something that should never have broken by now.

I had my leaf springs on my 2010 replaced under warranty last yr. They didnt break but they were making an awful squeaking noise.

Flaking chrome on drivers interior door handle. Darn thing cut me deep a couple weeks ago.

Leaking transmission cooling lines at the crimp.

Road noise issue I'm waiting on warm weather to fix.

Knocking on wood... Nothing major on this Truck, 2011 with 14K on the clock.

Couple little things that bug me, but not enough to take it in for repair, may have them look at it next oil change.

Power door locks when putting it in Park / Drive make a very load buzzing noise when locking / unlocking, but still work. Didnt do that new.

Likes to fog up easy and forgets the Auto settings when switching between modes. I plan on having them do the HVAC reprogram.

Door seals seem to be compressing or doors need adjusting or something I get more road noise then when new.

Radiator / Antifreeze overflow bottle rattles and is loose.

Headlights. I keep adjusting them down, folks keep thinking they are too bright.

USB Stereo memory stick will not do playlist (beat that horse to death)

Here are a couple of things I noticed on my 09 Silverado.

1. The tire lug nut wrench, where there is a wing nut holding it to a stud to the floor, I found mine was stripped. It took 15 minutes for me to get the wing nut off. I had the dealer fix it under warranty. They had to tear up the carpet and re-weld a stud on there.

2. I have noticed moisture (condensation) in the headlights on cold mornings and did think it was odd, but hopefully they are not getting water in them when it rains. Are they supposed to be sealed?

I think that is it so far. Everything else works and looks great.
