2008 Silverado Extended Cab 4.3 V6

I have a 2008 Silverado Extended Cab 4.3 V6 W/T, made the mistake of getting the truck without Cruise Control. could I install it myself? and was it a mistake for getting the 4.3 V6 for a Family truck and occasional towing a 4300lb boat?

Update.... I have traded in my 4.3 V6 I bought Sunday for the 4.8 V8 lastnight... I can definatly feel the power difference... now I was told the GM part for cruise is $66.14 and programming is needed....

So far what I have read - no one has found a definite answer, but almost all say no. I have found in my research all of the harnesses to add it, the steering wheel, and instructions on how to pull the wheel. I am not sure if it would then need to be programmed by the dealer or if it will work.

 

When I get some extra cash and I can buy everything and try it I will let you know. It will be a while though.
