The Best Fuel Injection Cleaner?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I'm almost off of work, and thinking of hitting AutoZone or something to grab some fuel injection cleaner. I'll refuel to about 20 gallons, or would you suggest just putting 10 gallons in the tank, plus the cleaner, and try to run through that tank to avoid spoilage? What cleaner do you guys think is the best?

Thanks fellas!

I run seafoam every 3 months in my families cars...just add the 16oz can to a full tank of gas. Never had a fuel related problem (injector or carb) in the past 15 years. All our cars run exceptionally well although I do take very good care of them.

Does it work? :troll: But I know I have never had a problem.

Others will put in their 0.02 as well as to what product they like.

I was using Chemtool.

Since Wally World has Seafoam now, I put 3 cans into the full gas tank at every oil change which is usually around 5000 miles (8046.72 Canadian).

Does it work ???

Does it NOT work ???

I can't prove it either way.

But I do sleep better at night.

Ethanol enriched gasoline will naturally clean your tank and injectors. If your area has recently made the switch to ethanol enriched gas, you may want to change your fuel filter. If you still choose to run a cleaner, I wouldn't run a methanol based cleaner. The methanol mixed with the ethanol could create to much heat, with damaging engine temps.

While I don't use it often, I know auto parts stores around here carry BG44K and I have had decent results running it through carbs and old injectors. I had decent luck with SeaFoam back in the day as well.

Hey fellas! I really appreciate your time and attention. I'm really gonna like this forum! I went with Chevron with Techtron yesterday. I got the smaller one where you only add 12 gallons of gas. I got on the accelerator afterwards to get that fuel spraying! The truck already runs like a cloud, and I think the guy that had it before me took exceptionally good care of her! For and '04, she looks brand new with the exception of some small scratches.

Thanks for the suggestions on CAI's as well!

In to my next inquiry.....fuel distributors. Anybody had any success with a certain brand or style? Thanks guys!
