Brighter Fog Lights

Recommended Posts

I want to put a brighter light in for the fog lights but don't want hids at this time. Any suggestions on a bulb size or any ideas for something else would be great.

Thanks

try the putco ion white bulbs. They are the only direct replacement bulbs for the fog lights.

I tryed the putco and they were ok but after going through two sets with in 3 months plus the cost was alittle to much. I went with daddys fog light upgrade. Boy was it a real improvement with GREAT results.

Many on the form have done it and I suggest you do the same here is the link:

Hey I hate to change the subject a bit but has anybody here tried the blinglights kits off of ebay? I got a kit for my birthday from my friends because they didn't know the actual kit I wanted. They supposedly work and look stock, but I wanted someone else's opinion first before I install. I have no fog lights yet and I just don't want these to look like shit in the stock fog light holes

I think the Sierra fog is an 880 bulb. My Chevy uses a 5202 bulb. I went with HIDs in the fogs. I dunno what I'll use them for. They cover about what the hi beams cover now, but cut off when the hi beams are switched on. Both the 880 and 5202 are low output bulbs and the 9005 bulb that someone shoehorned in their fogs puts out about twice the light but doesn't fit and has to be siliconed in.

Nope, the GMT900 Sierra is a 5202 as well. The 880 bulbs were used on the GMT800 trucks, and GMT360s. And while both are lower output bulbs, the light output from an 880 puts the 5202 to shame.

No silicon in mine. The 9005 bulb has the same sized o-ring. A snug fit and a little piece of wire to make sure it doesn't fall out is all I ever used. It's entirely swappable and does not harm the factory housing whatsoever.
