Likely on here....but I can't find it

So putting winter rims and tires on my 14 Silverado & 14 Equinox both with new sensors.

Is there a way to cheat so the comuputer will learn the new sensors or do you have to use the scanner/tool

Thanks

You must use an activation tool for both. I only takes a minute. Put the vehicle in learn mode (you manual tells you how) activate the sensors with the tool one at a time starting with the LF then RF, RR and lastly LR. Listen for the horn chirps along the way to tell you it is done and your finished. The tools run anywhere from $60 to several hundred depending on the features. If you can borrow one it is quick and easy.

If your doing this twice a year, buying a tool is very cost effective as you will be using it 4 times a year in your case. Just the cost of going to the dealer or tire shop will be more. I have already done 6 sets this year for family and friends.

You might want to note - The Kent Moore EL-50448 only does GM vehicles. Other tools do many more brands i.e. the ATEQ VT15 but the cost is at least twice as much, so if you do more than just GM vehicles make sure the tool will handle them as well.

Is the el50448 tool available from the gm dealer? Also if I rotate the tires and not reset the sensors will it set a code and a will I have a warning light come up on the dash?I am trying to diagnose a pull to the left and need to move some wheels around, thanks

No but when the truck says right front tire is low you won't really know which one is low since it got moved.

yeah I understand that ,but it is something I can do with out as long as I don't have a warning light on the dash irritating the hell out of me when I am driving down the road it is all good,I used an air pressure guage for forty years with no problems I will just continue to do so ,I will probably order the tool eventually or maybe not if I can find one to borrow.

OK I just wanted to make sure you understood that, I too use a gauge to check my pressures, never one to trust something spinning around all it's life. If you were close I would let you borrow mine. :)

appreciate it.cheers

I put the winter rims with sensors on the equinox last night. Drove it and not lights on.

Will the truck be the same?

No need to waste money on sensors if no light will come on in the dash

that all depends on how many months a year you have your winter wheels on.

canada..4 - 6 months..you are looking at almost 50% of the ownership of your vehicles without th use of a feature you paid a premium for.

personally, ide buy the sensors, and im going to probably buy the tool.
