Using up some more carbon vinyl... Goes well with the b-pillars and mirror caps also wrapped. Without the lettering cut out. All done. Those letters took a significant amount of time to cut out... And some pictures without the plate since I haven't seen anyone post it before.3 points

Honestly, I haven't used the task lights at all. However, this Safety package includes the blind spot monitors and the rear cross traffic alert and I have been saved multiple times by both. It's a big truck and more prone to missing what is around you. It's your choice but it is definitely worth the money in my opinion.2 points

I posted this in another thread, but they were looking to only have the fogs on with high beams. My solution has the fog lights automatically turn on, and stay on, anytime the parking lights or headlights come on (hi and lo beam). You never have to hit the button. Figured I'd label this as a "How To" in case those are housed somewhere. I'm new to this forum, so let me know if I should be doing this differently. Cheers! Hey guys - recently bought a 2016 Sierra Denali and joined the forum. Stumbled upon this thread while clicking around. I always gain so much from these forums, so I thought I'd give back in my first post. Here is a simple solution I made to have the fog lights automatically turn on with the day time running lights - did this with my previous truck as well (2008 Cadillac Escalade). I bought a diode and used some 14 gauge wire I had laying around. I wrapped 14 gauge wire to each end of the diode and sealed it with marine grade shrink wrap (waterproof). I then got into the engine bay fuse box and pulled the fuses for the fog lights (#49) and day time running lights (#28 or #29 - can be either, only need one). When I put the fuses back in I wedged the wire in one of the slots for the fuse connector, one end of the diode/wire goes in the fog light fuse and the other goes in the DRL fuse. Keep in mind the diode is directional (only allows current one way), so if it doesn't work at first just flip the wire around. Now anytime your DRL's are on, the fog lights will automatically come on. No need to push the fog light button. The fog lights also stay on when you turn on your brights. I attached a photo of my set up, it was taken standing over the driver side fender looking at the fuse box. Ask any questions if you got em!1 point

My buddy's 14 Silverado 5.3 101,000 just last week. Bone stock no catch can no tune. He does nothing but change the oil 1 time a year. Hell he never had an A/C issue. Oh yeah new breaks about 99,000. Hope my 15 hold up as good as his has.1 point

I made custom mounts and used Diode Dynamics 6 inch bars on my '18 with AGS. They're 3 inches deep, so it's kind of tight on clearance, I wouldn't go any deeper for a LED light. Sorry for bad pic quality. Bottoms are wide lens, top is driving. I'm going to switch the bottom lenses back over to amber when it's not so cold outside. I didn't trim anything to make them fit. The custom mounts took.. a while to get right. I chopped the mounts down and that came with the lights so I could still adjust them vertically. Welded the chopped mounts to my brackets. The bottom fogs and top driving are on their own switches. I plan on using that OE style light control switch for fogs/offroad lights to control these.1 point

Nice truck. Just give it a bit to break in. Lighter weight, better aero and an 8 speed should always give you at least equal if not better mileage. I know the ‘19 5.3 loaner I had was getting MUCH better MPG, city and highway, than my ‘16 5.3 ever did. It had about 900 miles on it. My 6.2 is still a gas hog with 300 miles on it but it should improve a little with time.1 point

I agree with@z1boss, in the past I always said I’d never pay extra for safety features/packages etc, but once you have them... man they are convenient! It’s definitely worth it, it’s just that extra little thing to keep you and your truck safe1 point

Nice, I like the white, was my 2nd choice. Mileage should improve. I have the smaller v8 and now het about 22 mpg on the highway with 3000miles on it now. I have always broke my cars in the way I intended to drive them. I have never had an engine issue, but that’s me.1 point

Guys, no need to be nasty and sarcastic. Knock it off. I would recommend leaving the truck in neutral with the parking brake on and perhaps the wheels chocked. I bet this would be a workaround.1 point

Its not so much the offset that's causing the issue. What's I've seen is that the caliper actually sticks out past the hub a little so any wheel, regardless of offset, that had spokes that run straight out from the hub are not going to clear the caliper. The spokes need to instantly taper towards the outside of the vehicle in order to clear the caliper.1 point

^This Have you tried making sure the gas cap is all the way tight? That usually does the trick... Tyler1 point

Its a safety feature so you dont pull up in your garage and kill yourself. Leave the key in the car and it wont quit.1 point

Somebody is a bit sensitive, People are trying to help and maybe didn't fully understand what you were trying to say, no need to jump down their throats, doesn't get people to help you that way. Have a great day!1 point

catch can and AFM disabling seem to be a gm truck forum myth. most vehicles over 100k are all stock1 point

Night time rain really SUCKS!! It is a contrast issue with the rear camera-not the display screen. I hate to say it but we own a 16' Toyota Camry and in the display menu the contrast and color can be adjusted, oh yes, the Toyota rear cam even works beautifully in the rain. Factory setting on the Yota blazed the screen with glaring white color at night, adjusted the contrast now its perfectly clear in the darkest areas and the color is better than factory default too. We should be able to go into the settings on the GM's and adjust the contrast- just like Toyota , I'm sure there are other brands with adjustable contrast/color as well. Now how do we get GM to take notice and fix this? I am speaking of a 2018 GMC SLT , and yes the cameras are progressively getting worse= cheaper for GM. We have run GM trucks since 1965, and have noticed since the advent of OEM rear cameras they are getting crappier as each model year rolls out.1 point

You know what really stinks about this entire situation for me? I'm 43. I've been careful with money most of my life. I'm not even close to being well off, but if anything goes sideways I'll be ok for awhile. I could have went the MVI I06 route or bought a highly optioned truck, but I'm still stuck in that "be careful with your money" mindset. I guess this is what happens when you try to save a buck when you don't have to.1 point

i'd like to know how to fix it so, if you select fog lights to be turned on with your low beams, they will come on again after you turn off the truck and then back on again, instead of pressing the button again.1 point

It’s a true lift, warrantied by GM, not being ripped off, actually it’s a reasonable price for OEM parts and dealer installation1 point

37? C'mon man you need that for 37? Don't make me laugh.??? 37 is like a heatwave here in Minnesota. It was -37 in International Falls the other day. Without the windchill1 point

Hey haven’t been around here since I started mod’n my truck but a buddy got me looking around the forum again. I’ve got a 2018 Z71 and mods include: Custom BDS Lift, 1.5 Zone body, Custom XD two piece wheels, Toyo OC M/T, K&N BlackHawk intake, Mighty Mouse catch can, Color match covers, Amber deleted headlights, LTZ grill, Color match tows, 3rd BL, Recon Tails, TG handle and Interior pieces, magnaflo side dump, Amp power steps, G2 diff cover, polished drive shaft and a bunch of other little stuff here and there. 90% done in house other than application of powder and paint. Still got some things to do but a decent looking daily/shop truck in my opinion.1 point

Btw, does anyone know if your drive train warranty would be terminated if by switching out your rear differential cover for a larger capacity unit? I’ve been debating on it because now that I’ve added heavier tires I’m worried about my rear diff getting over heated. I’ve already ordered the G2 Brute. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
