I would be interested in that as well.

But in my truck there is not a selection for AUTO on my selector

There is 2H - Green is what I would select, 4H yellow is what I would select, 4L red is what I would select.

I then would request that it could be seen easily during daylight (bright) and also make the leds in an easily replaced modules so that the dash did not have to be taken apart to replace the leds if and when they failed. I would also design the module to be easily installed with small as possible teardown and number and type of tools, so that it would appeal to the biggest market audience, not every one is able to tear down the dash and guage cluster to install.

The original GM selector as noted is poorly designed and implemented so you have a large potential market audience for your idea.

I would need to get my hands on non-auto switch to determine the wiring. The lights are very bright leds but they tie into the LED indicator circuit so if you have auto head lights then these will dim when its dark. With the LEDs I'm using its highly unlikely they'll fail but they can be easily replaced. When you say module, do you mean something that mounts somewhere other then the gauge cluster? Where would you like it to be mounted? I originally deigned it to be as integrated as possible but opening up the cluster is a little involved in order to use the 4x4 light in the cluster.

Put me on the list! Gimme Gimme Gimme! As far as colors, Don't lite the indicator at all for 2H, green or otherwise! That would be confusing as hell.

BTW, Good Job figuring out something that even the high falutin GM engineers obviously couldn't.

Wow looks awesome. I would highly recommend though you go GREEN for 4 auto (because its safe t odrive in all the time, same as having your fogs on) and yellow for 4hi. An leave it like it is now , nothing for 2hi.

Put me down as well. On my 2008 2500 SLT, the knob is on the left side and I guess the 2500 & 3500 don't have auto AWD, only options are 2WD, 4WD, and 4LO. As far as color goes, I'd suggest Orange, Green, or Yellow.

I hope the clusters for the SLT & LTZ models have the 4WD spot in them, as compared to the clusters for the W/T, SLE and LT. (yes the clusters are different) By the way folks for those asking, the light is active in the dash for the W/T series, with the FLOOR mounted transfer case shifter. (Only available in the w/t) Otherwise everyone else got stuck with the round knobs and no active cluster light. Just the space in there for the light.

Cheers,

Ryan

My 09 SLT has the 4wd icon in the cluster but it never illuminates.

Ready for orders!

Make sure to include Auto vs Non-Auto 4wd and what side of the steering wheel your switch is on.

Unit is $90

Shipping is $9

PM me for an email address to send payment via paypal.

I've been working at developing my original design, something rigged up with radioshack parts, to a proffesional level product that is rugged, reliable, and will last the life of your truck. Sorry its taken so long, I'm kinda of a perfectionist so I wouldn't release anything until it was perfect and throughly tested.

The unit gets its power from the MBEC (junction block left of pedals) using an OEM plug so if you want some extra wires[ground, power, ignition, and RAP(less then .3 amps!)] for a radar detector or GPS, mention it in the the payment. This doesn't cost any extra but if you want to run more then .3 amps RAP then a relay is needed and is $10 more.

LEDs match intensity and color of others in the gauge cluster. Very visable during the day.

I'll be posting a step by step guide in the How To section for install instructions.

Auto 4wd - Yellow for Auto and red for 4H and 4L

Non-Auto - Yellow for 4H and red for 4L

Is there any way to differentiate the color between 4H and 4L on an auto 4WD truck? Maybe green for auto, yellow for 4H and red for 4L? That would be even more functional IMO.

Your kit appears to be EXCELLENT build quality! I'm impressed.
