Dissapointed With Linex

i just had it sprayed on last week and it already pealed up where the latches go for the tonneau cover. i know they will spray it again but i have only opened the cover twice and it pealed. very dissapointed.

That's not normal. Most guys are extremely happy with Line-X. Sounds like the "new guy" installed yours. Hopefully they fix the problem, but just in case, hold on to your warrenty card.

Line-X is only as good as the applicator. Sounds like a bad prep job to me. I got several vehicles with it and never had a peel. And I abuse one of them regularly.

Same here! Sounds like somebody screwed up and didn't scuff the paint properly before spraying. My Line-X has stood up to some pretty heavy abuse just fine.

Agreed... LineX is only as good as the prep job... As with any paint , if the surface below is not scuffed properly and cleaned after the top coat will come off... Especially when moving something heavy or with tension over it.

 

I had linex in 2 of my trucks and loved it ... and miss it! The only reason i dont have it in this truck is because the dealer threw in the plastic bedliner for free..

I had rhino liner tuff grip installed in my 5'8 short bed and it was 400. I am pretty sure Linex is around the same price if not a little more. I love my Tuff Grip Rhino Liner nothing slides around in the bed at all. I have a fried that had linex installed in his truck and he is looking for a way to remove it and have rhino liner Tuff grip installed.

it is on the under lip of the bed rail so if i think of it rationally i must say that it is probably not an area prepped well by anyone cause it in not a high abuse area and also who would go upside down to prep it right there. i will call them though.

I heard quotes in the $400 - $ 450 range. This was a few years ago. Prices vary by location because each franchise is independently owned.

I had my 8ft bed done about 3 months ago for $425 with tax, but it does vary greatly depending on location, just as a side note the other Rhino dealer around here wanted about $500

I guess that is what I figured it would cost to do this, just didn't want to believe it. I will have to wait to save up for that one...

$400-$450 is average.... Usually its $400 under rail and $450 over the rail... The product itself is cheap but its the labor is most expensive as there is the sanding / cleaning / tapping off / taking apart the tailgate access door (if it is there) then the initial spray , and then removing all the tape and cleaning up overspray and reassembly of tailgate. $450 is a deal IMO!

I agree that it is a deal considering the labor involved (that is if it is done properly) but that is just not top of the priority list in my budget right now.
