That explains it all..... He sprayed the engine bearings and cylinder walls with that spray they were working on (what was it an industrial lubricant). You know the one he used to spray the thing he slid on the snow with..... What was that a electric vent fan cover??

Yeah, a hover round, those things are fun as hell! We used to take wheelchairs and hook em' behind the pickup and pull em' with someone in em'. What a bumpy ride they had, and it wasn't good when it hit a bump. It would go up in the air about 10 ft. and come down hard. Very funny stuff.

When I was a teenager working in a garage, I did a lot of lube, oil and filter work. One day, both lifts were busy, so I was told to take a big pan, crawl under a car (it was a Terraplane, believe it or not) and drop the oil, change the filter and put in new oil ... then, I could lube when a lift was empty.

 

Well, I got the oil drained, screwed on the plug and replaced the filter. Then a lift opened up.

 

The boss was eating lunch, so I thought I'd drive the oil-less rig straight onto the lift. Hey, it would get me out of the 100º sun and I could put in the oil and lube the car in the shade. Anyway, it was only maybe FIFTY FEET to the open bay.

 

I started the Terraplane, drove maybe five feet and that sonofabitch SEIZED. It seized hard. DEAD.

 

About that time, the boss came around the corner.

 

The boss instantly realized how stupid I'd been and told me that I might easily owe the Terraplane's owner a new engine.

 

I filled the engine with oil and, happily, it became unseized, and it ran.

 

I never forgot that lesson. Vehicle engines simply DO NOT run with no oil.

 

Sorry, but Old Fred is not only a Troll, but he is absolutely full of bullshit!!!

I don't believe so. Threads should only be closed when it makes too many people argue, IMO. And......no one is arguing, we're all agreeing, there's no way a GAS engine can go 8000 miles with NO oil.
