I agree 100%......I work with a couple of guys who, when speaking to each other on the other side of the table, speak Spanish......makes me nuts. When my Wife wants to go to Walmart, she sez, "Let's go to little Ecquador....don't forget your passport so you can get out of the store". My area has a serious ILLEGAL alien problem, and the LEGAL Spanish community gets hot when immirgration makes an arrest....what is it that they don't understand about the word "ILLEGAL"....they fight for their rights to be released.....I'll say agian..."ILLEGAL"

I have no problem with people imigrating to the USA but I do feel that to be become a citizen or be allowed to stay here, everyone should be able to communicate in the countries official language, English.

everyone in this country should be fluent in english, crazy that there actually are people in htis country who dont know english. i dont see any mexicans around me, but when i go to where my family lives around philly, they are all over the place.

They are all over the place around here. Makes a guy feel good knowing they don't pay taxes, get free health care and can still roll in the escalade. I think any illegals should get a free plane ride home and dropped from 20,000 feet with no chute. I have absolutely no problem if they wanna learn english and come here the LEGAL way.

what i dont seem to understand, how the **** do illegals get cars, get their kids into public schools, get houses/trailers, healthcare, etc.

When I lived in Ohio and worked in retail we had a Spanish area in our music department. There was always about 5 or 6 people in the section who spoke no English at all, that section was also our highest lost area as we never seemed to sale any of the CDs but always found the empty cases and wrappers. Now that I live in Texas and in a city that is one big melting pot of people I have noticed its not just Mexicans who can't speak English but wide spread among all the different nationalities. I understand if you are just visiting a place if you can't speak the native language but if you are going to live their learn the language, doesn't matter who you are or where you came from/move to, learn the native language. I also don't understand the whole "illegals have rights to". They are ILLEGAL, the only rights they have is to be picked up and shipped home. I know America is a melting pot but that doesn't mean we should let illegals have the same rights as everyone else. If they want to move here and work, great, I am all for it but go through the process and do it legally. Sorry, this is a bit of a issue with me but I just don't understand what confuses people so much about what the word "ILLEGAL" means or that having illegals hurts the economy.

Try living in San Antonio some of the billboards and signs are in Spanish. I was driving downtown and the budwieser billboard was in Spanish. I don't have a problem with immigrants but if they choose to live in our environment they should adapt to it.

Try living in a country that puts french on everything even though no one speaks it in the area.

They cater to the hindi and chinese up here.

Driving through richmond even signs are in chinese.

The United States has no official Language, so why should/would you expect people to learn American (cause it's not true English).

do the massive amounts of illegals bother me? hell yeah, I live in illegal central Los Angeles, but as for anyone speaking their native tongue, get over it, not all people that speak Spanish are illegal and not all illegals are Spanish speaking..

I am Italian/English/German mix, my first wife was 100% Korean (may she rest in peace) my current wife is 100% Mexican BORN IN THE U.S.A, as was her father and his father and his father.

When I was married to Kyung I spoke Korean when I was with her family because it was easier for them to communicate that way, I took it upon myself to learn the language. When I am with Rain's family I speak Spanish, even though they are 4th generation American Citizens, it is easier for them to communicate in their native tongue.

When I am with my mother I speak Italian, my mothers family immigrated here in 1938, Italian is her native tongue and again it is easier for her to communicate that way, even though she speaks fluent American and was raised in American schools since age 5.

People speak in their naive tongue because it is easier for them to understand, why don't you go to another country and see how easy it is for you to learn their language and do everything in their language, I bet you would have some difficulty..

The U.S.A. has no official language, so get over yourselves.

and for those idiots that think I am Un-American, you don't know me, I served my country as a Marine in the first Bush war, my Father was a LT in the Army for Korean and Vietnam wars, and Uncle a Lt. Col for Korea, Vietnam, and all major U.S. Military Skirmishes thru Desert Storm. I love this country, but I have learned the meaning of the word Tolerance, maybe you should too.

Yes illegal aliens irk me, and it is a big problem, but as I said, not all people that speak spanish are illegal and not all the illegals are just Spanish speakers..

I believe it all comes down to how we were raised and I agree. It may not be an official language but what is the name of our country "United States" Its written and spoken in English. My biggest problem with the language issue is that we have driving tests that are done for people with a translator....RUFKM...

This backfired once already when I had to sit behind someone sitting at a green yield with no traffic. I honked and she looked panic stricken. She didn't know how to drive because the driving test (if taken) does not tell you what to do in every day situations. Imagine them trying to read digital traffic signs "Slow Down-Traffic Incident Ahead" "Dangerous Drop Off"

Don't really care too much about immigration etc...I Choose not to have a point of view on things like this....I always seem to pick the wrong one anyway... But I guess none of us would be here if it weren't for Immigration...

However...I would just once like to push 1 for English and get someone on the other end that actually speaks it...as a first language.

Nothing I hate more than calling about my cell phone or credit card or some other Canadian/US product and getting a calling center over in something-STAN answer the phone.

It would take me 30sec to explain my issue to someone with English as a first language...not the 30 min and 18 customer care reps I have to go through to ask to upgrade my texting plan. Its pretty ridiculous when you think about it. I know they may be saving dollars an hr by sending calls to wherever, but when you take an hr to complete the request the person has...is it really more cost effective.

My wife used to work for a company that accepted calls for Nextel customers. Mostly billing and stuff....her longest call was about 15 min if she really had to hunt through things for a really off the wall question. The most common greeting she got from a customer when she answered the phone was "Oh my God...you actually speak English".

If you think about it the other way...would say a Spanish person appreciate me bastardizing his language and taking an hour out of his day to try and understand a simple request?

    • It is a company truck. Not under warranty. Both companies I’m involved with usually buy trucks that are discounted when looking. Except what the owners drive. Being retired and minority owner. I don’t drive a company truck. If they have the new GM gas engine it would be in a service truck.
    • Update!   Had the dealer look at the issue. First tech says no problem?? I said there was no voltage on the brake terminal on the 7 pin connector! He said he did not know what pin I was talking about. So they bring out a seasoned tech and I explain to him. He attaches a VOM and has me push the brake, and sees no voltage!!    Tom, the seasoned guy says lets go back to my service bay and look closer. We discover thru his on line system that the controller is a "smart controller" as it needs to detect a trailer connected before the brake voltage is allowed to the 7 pin connector!!! He also showed me a GM bulletin stating some trailers with LED lights have such low resistance the controller wont recognize them!!! I was thinking WTF, but thanked him for bringing me back into the service bay and explaining this all to me. He also plugged in a trailer simulator and it showed the brake controller was indeed working.   After my dealership visit I hooked up to an older camper with standard 1157 lights and the truck did connect and the electric brakes worked great!    Not to sure what I have to do with the equipment trailer with LED lights, I cant tow it with no brakes.   Why did something so simple for many years have to get so complicated!
    • Do find out as that would be interesting if they have been using any L8T engines or for that matter have been running any of the Ford gas 7.3 to see how they have been panning out.    I assume your nephews engine replacement was on his dime as the regular warranty would have long past unless he had some form of extended warranty that covered such events. That shows though and may depend on the year of the build that failures are occurring with the valve train well beyond the warranty distance and more than likely so will others have that sneak up on them.
    • I realize this is an old post and its probably been talked about since then on this forum and I may have mentioned it myself but the Chev multi flex tailgate on the HD trucks are all aluminum so there is that one item that I am aware of on a current GM HD truck that is aluminum but if its the standard tailgate then its still a steel unit as far as I am aware to current 2026 model year.
    • I am surprised it didn't pop back up some just in time for the end of school/summer holidays and July 4th time period. Here in Alberta it hit its low coming off the high back a week before the end of June or so and has been creeping back up some and would equate roughly to around 20 cents per gallon increase. Of course there are various factors and one is the games they typically play with wanting to capture that holiday vehicle movement but also our government directly causing our Canadian dollar to drop ( a polite way of explaining the real picture ) causing our prices to go up rather than continue down like it should have, and even though we are sitting on the crude.
