One Week To Wait. Countdown Begins

One week until I drop my truck off to get her plastic surgery work done. I can hardly wait. I drove a lifted dodge truck in high school and in college but had to sell it to get a economical car. (Don't crack on the dodge...I couldn't afford a chevy;) Anyways, I was checking the forum and decided to start my post now. Parts are piled in the garage, got my lugnuts today, so I hope I have everything. Off road innovations in Tallahassee Florida is going to do the install Parts are included below:

6/7" Fabtech suspension lift (4 boxes)

20x9 KMC XD series wheels...badlands

35-12.50-r20 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T...

Did I say I can't wait to get back into a lifted truck;)

The say it will be done by thursday at lunch, I plan to get it on friday and I leave to go on vacation for a week starting saturday.....I HOPE THEY HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO INSTALL IT AND THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS......should be straight forward.....right?? Someone put my mind at ease lmao....

If they are a qualified shop, you won't have any issues. Make sure they test drive it before returning it to make sure everything is perfect before giving it to you. :dunno:

Good advice......thanks,

The only issue I can see would be with the larger tires. Sometimes they can be tricky getting balanced. So... make sure they drive it at highway speeds too :dunno:

One day turn around on a suspension lift install is no big deal. Easy to do especially for a off road shop.

Cool...I actually got home from being TDY early and called them. I am taking it to them on Monday! Picking it up tuesday night or Wednesday.....transportation dictates p/u because they are and hour and a half away and I have to arrange transportation. Bottom line, tha relieves the stress of them getting it done quickly.

Can't wait. ha ha. Thanks for the advice fellas.

I have 7 years in...kinda young still despite the gray hair, though 20 years looks more and more tempting for a nice retirement. We use too many acronyms imo......no one ever knows what we're talking about. BTW...Thanks for YOUR service.

well.....I dropped her off this morning. Owner seemed like a good guy and said he was going to get right on it. He said hopefully tomorrow mid day it would be done. He said he would call when they could see the light at the end of the tunnel.....so hopefully no news this evening is good news.

Why am I nervous lol.......I hope it is ready soooon.........

No reason to be nervous. But I do understand the "I want it done right now" feeling.

thanks for the reassurance;)

Well, it was just my luck........the installer says the wheels do not even come close to fitting with the fabtech lift. He says the wheels stick out too far and will rub like crazy as soon as I turn the sterring wheel. What the heck.....I called fabtech and they recommended 4.5 backspace for my truck as did 4wheelonline, the company I purchased through. IS it it POSSIBLE that the installer put the lift on wrong?

*on a side note, he says the lift is not as high as the bds lift he installed on a silverado last month.....everything I read here says fabtech is higher than the bds.....either way I have problems.....

what do I do now???
