I have an 09 SRT8 Challenger and have had for three years and it is twice the car the Camaro is. The interior is alot better and I have not been outrun at the dragstrip by a camro yet. They are alot heavier and more comfortable with more room in them also. I am 6' 5" and weigh about 285 lb's so I do need the room. I have owned Chevy's all my life with the exception of 2 older Challengers and 1 mustang back in the 70's and I must say this car is the best Car I've ever owned, period.

By the way with me in it and a quarter tank of gas it is right at 4600 lbs and I run 12.7 at Thunder Valley in Bristol Tn. This is about 2 tenth's slower than most track's because of where we are located. You really can't go by what the mag's say it just aint real life.

I think its a great looking car, but I'd never buy one unless it was a second or third car. Just having fun. Besides, IF I was to buy a sports car, It WOULD be a Camaro

As far as Challenger better than the Camero? Son, you need to take the Mopar sunglasses off. You got yourself an Avenger with a V-8. Good for you. Besides, you ain't running no full second faster than every recorded test out there, stock, on street tires, period. Pulleeze.

Lets stick to facts, I did not say that I was a full second faster than anything. Also the Challenger is made from the LX platform which is the Charger. I did say the Challenger was twice the car that the Camaro is and that's called an Opinnion we all have them some speak there's and some don't. I'm not a Mopar guy, I'm a Challenger guy.otherwise it's Chevy all my life alway's has alway's will.

You are right at least it should with a super charger on it and 80 HP more than the Challenger.

You said it is running a 12.7 at your local track which is .2 slower than most. Read. Average to best recorded 1/4 mile times for a SRT8 Challenger is right in the neighborhood of a 13.8 - 14.0. FACT. So, 13.8 - 12.7 = 1.1 seconds, I rounded it down.

 

As for the poke about it being an Avenger? Ehh, Avenger, Charger, Challenger, Omni, they're all the same to me. And that my friend, is MY opinion.
