That's exciting to finally see something! I just really wish this isnt final design and they move AWAY FROM SQUARE WHEEL WELLS! Give us round ones already! This Topic could be moved to the K2 Platform forum

I like what I see. Cutting 500 lbs off with Al / Mg alloys would be a lot, especially if the payload ratings don't change. Paired with DI motors, it could be a game changer.

Looks a bit smaller to me in the photos but that could be an illusion. Doesnt look to be a major/radical change looks wise to the GMT-900's

You could always buy a GMC, they have the rounded wheel wells. I think maybe that is why GM builds two different trucks. I like the fender flares on the Chevy better, especially on a black truck.

Well it looks like the 6'6" crew cab box rumor was true. I also hear that the extended cab doors will open forward like a Ram's does. Going to be interesting as the details keep dribbling in.

I definitely wouldn't want Ram-type ex. cab doors. The ability to have the entire side of the cab open to me is a huge plus. The forward opening doors were one of the things that made me turn away from the Ram honestly. The current doors make getting back there as an adult there way easier, same thing with putting a booster seat (and in turn, the kid in the seat) way easier, without the doorframe or the door getting in the way.

I don't have kids myself but I've watched the son of a friend of mine several times over the years and loading him into this truck is easy. In my Tacoma, even though the back seat was bigger, having to work around the limitation of the door frame and the door to get the seat and him in there was a pain in the ass. With this truck, I just slide the front seat forward some and I have all the room in the world.

That just means that you and I are two against the hundreds of thousands that want the extended cab doors to open without having to open the front doors. I like my truck the way it is for the same reason you like your's the way it is. Again though, we're the minority.

Glad to see the crew in the 1500 with the std boc as that will probably be the next configuration of truck even if i have to step up to the 2500. I hope the front end isnt like the new colorado, to car like for me.

I dont think the frenders are squared off I think its just the camo cover looking like that to through you off like the front bumper, no way its going to stick out that far.

I would like it if the doors opened like the Ram's. Hopefully they offer the Standard bed with a Crew Cab that would be a huge plus. Now I hope it's ugly as mud so I don't want one. :fingersx:

I agree that having them open forward would kind of defeat the purpose. If you use the back seat for passengers that often you should probably move into the crew cab. I bought the extended cab because I wanted a little more room than the standard cab and to have the option to put people back there if needed. My back seat is used so infrequently that I almost always have it flipped up. The only downside to having them open suicide is that the piece of weather stripping at the bottom almost always hits the car next to me in parking spaces not allowing me to open them all the way. That would be the only thing I would fix.

I like them to open like the Ram's because that gives a pillar in the middle of the cab adding more support, and a more rigid structure.
