CREE 5W LED Back Up Lights Lights

Has anyone used these on the 2010 or 2011 for the driving lights? I could see where their application world be worth it as the extended life of the bulds would reduce the number of bulb replacements over the life of the vehicle.

 

 

By driving light's what do you mean? I asked the company about putting them in my '05 as DRLs and they said that the bulbs aren't made for extended periods of the voltage that is produced by a vehicle. They said most LED bulbs are designed for 12 volt and the CREE bulbs are designed for 13.5 volt, not the ~15 produced by a vehicle. They said that they won't warranty them if used in this instance but have had many people use them successfully without them burning out prematurely.

Once again this is for the GMT800s used as a DRL.

Thanks. Yes, I was writing about the DRLs...you'd think they'd find a replacement for those as they're always on when the vehicle is being driven.

And whats the different in the Radial vs non-radial?

i have the ons with the radials. It helps spread some light up close mainly for if you have a backup camera. but no matter which one you choose there is a ton of light shining way out back

looks good. I'm going to have to get myself a set. i currently have wedge led's in them and they don't look anywhere near as bright

I'm going to look into these, thanks to the origional poster for sharing. With my 5% tint over every window, the factory back-up lights just aren't cutting it, lol.

I'm glad I could help out. I had been searching for a long time. No need to roll down the windows anymore to see behind me. They are like mini HID bulbs for reverse and you can't beat a lifetime warranty!

Came back from the Thanksgiving trip and had my bulbs waiting for me. WOW what a difference, they make my LED light bar and LED license plate lights look so dim now. I need to request measurements for the cargo/brake light and replace them also.

I found them at Advanced Auto, not supper bright but brighter then the stock bulbs and they match my light bar. I tried a set of from V-LEDS but they were to long to fit inside the housing.

I impulse purchased these LED lights on Thursday night because of this thread. They shipped yesterday and arrived today. It just got dark so I went outside and turned 'em on to see what they're like... beautiful. Much better than stock. I don't have streetlights where I am, and I haven't mounted any aux. lighting yet so these were a great purchase.

Just fyi...if you have 2009, don't assume it takes the 921 bulbs. I ordered a set, just went out to change them, and sure enough....my truck has the larger, 3047 bulbs. I really should have double checked before I ordered them!

 

I'm going to get ahold of them tomorrow, to see if I can exchange them. If not, I'll make someone a good deal on a brand new set of 921's.

If I am not mistaken, 921's should be what is used in the overhead cargo/brake light. I was thinking about getting a set for there. Any way I could get you to test fit them for me, please?
