woyster,

I looked and was actually able to see the number on the bulbs of my 2011 GMC Sierra, and they matched what the silvanna website called for. Are you able to see the numbers on the bulbs at all? If not, I encourage you to take the few minutes and take apart the lights out and see what number they are.

I looked again and couldn't read the bulb number through the housing so I took the 3 minutes to remove the housing, pull the bulb, check the number and put it all back together. Mine is a 7441 bulb so I just ordered the 7440 LED replacement from Retro-Solutions. If they are anything like everyone is saying I think I will love them.

Hmmm, I emailed them on the 17th of November and haven't heard anything from them..

Sylvania says the 2007, 2008 and 2011's use 3047 bulbs for reverse, what are you guys ordering? I didn't see 3047 on their site.

when I put in my truck info it shows 921? Im guessing its the same type socket?

2009 and 2010 use 921, which is a smaller base.

2011 use 3047 which has a base like the 3157 so I am going to guess I can interchange and use 3157? Has anyone done this on their 2011 reverse lights?

My 2009 manual says 3047 for back-up Lamp...................

I've already posted this at least twice now but PHYSICALLY check to see what bulb your truck has. My manual said to use a 921 bulb but that was not what the truck had from the factory. 3047 and 921 are totally different designs and not remotely compatible so check first otherwise you'll run the chance of having to return what your ordered for the correct size.

This seems to be a common issue among truck companies. Dodge Ford and Chevy have all printed their manuals incorrect and have thrown everyone off including Sylvania. So do NOT rely on that either 100%. It is always best to check the bulb itself. I cannot begin to tell you the headaches this misprinting has caused us at the shop!

I ordered reverse lights, cargo lights, and plate lights from retro-solutions on Monday and got them tuesday, and installed, WoW what a difference they make. They recommend NOT to do HID with my 2009 Silverado because DRL are the same bulb controlled by the body module. So I skipped that. Last month I installed the Advent OGM1 and it is updated for the IGO map system today. Great im[provements to the truck.

Its not that we recommend not doing HID because of the DRL, The DRL takes a 4157 bulb so you can use our 3156 CREE with TOP LED only, not the radial. The HID kit just needs to have the correct harness for the truck to make everything work correctly!

I'm not sure I follow- the 4157/3157 bulb would work on the 03-07s and maybe the 99-02s but the 07+ trucks use low beam for DRL at reduced power.

Ah, another error by Sylvania apparently since they list the DRL as a separate bulb! Sorry about that. You can still use the HID kit on your truck but like I said, you will just need the correct harness setup!
