CREE 5W LED Back Up Lights Lights

I ordered reverse lights, cargo lights, and plate lights from retro-solutions on Monday and got them tuesday, and installed, WoW what a difference they make. They recommend NOT to do HID with my 2009 Silverado because DRL are the same bulb controlled by the body module. So I skipped that. Last month I installed the Advent OGM1 and it is updated for the IGO map system today. Great im[provements to the truck.

Its not that we recommend not doing HID because of the DRL, The DRL takes a 4157 bulb so you can use our 3156 CREE with TOP LED only, not the radial. The HID kit just needs to have the correct harness for the truck to make everything work correctly!

I'm not sure I follow- the 4157/3157 bulb would work on the 03-07s and maybe the 99-02s but the 07+ trucks use low beam for DRL at reduced power.

Ah, another error by Sylvania apparently since they list the DRL as a separate bulb! Sorry about that. You can still use the HID kit on your truck but like I said, you will just need the correct harness setup!

or just pull the fuse for the DRL. Most of us haven't had issues with the DRLs but I installed the harness on mine just because it is the right way to do it.

Pulling the fuse will make the kit last longer as its lifespan will not be run up so fast now that it wont be used for DRL. But the correct harness setup will still be needed since the vehicle is still utilizing the pulsed voltage for the headlights. Always a good idea to have the harness setup, provides safety and function to the kit and your vehicle!

What model HID and Harness Kit would I need for the 2009 Silverado, (Bulbs included?) This Just Goes In The Low Beams Socket, correct?

You could use either our 35w or 55w ( 55w is the most popular ) and would need the H11 bulb for your low beams. Here are the links and what you will need!

Head Lamps

35w DIGITAL headlight kits:

55w DIGITAL headlight kits (30%-40% more output):

Please select "H11" for low beams, the color of your choice ( see below) and for vehicle application, "Chevy Silverado 2007+

For the high beams, the same item will also need to be added to your cart again as a second item, however with the "9005/HB3" bulb selection instead.

Did I happen to give you a discount code by any chance? If not, go ahead and use code BESTHID at checkout!

I ordered my CREE LED reverse lights back in november i think. One of the bulbs is burnt out already....

I am hoping they offer me a replacement or something because that seems like an awfully short lifespan for the bulbs

We are very sorry about that! Please shoot us an email directly at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of!

The bulbs should not die out like that, so we will figure out what happened there so you can enjoy your reverse lights again.

2011 use 3047 which has a base like the 3157 so I am going to guess I can interchange and use 3157?

Has anyone done this on their 2011 reverse lights?

I use 3157 bulbs for mine and I have a 2011.

Are these the correct numbers for reverse lights for a 2012 GMC Sierra....??

Check your tail lights, DO NOT go by the owners manual as mine was wrong. I think the 3157 is more common but you may have the smaller 921 bulbs.

From what we have seen and what the Sylvania bulb guide is telling us ( we have nothing to do with their listings, and found some to be wrong), the 3156 is looking like that is what you will need!

Finally got the burnt out bulb out of my truck and it is going to UPS today.

Thank you very much for sending that out, we will get that looked at and fixed for you!

Had mine since @ December. One became very intermittent within a few weeks. Replacement has been fine for months now. Autopsy on failed lamp revealed cold solder joints.

I posted some before and after picts about page #5, if they are helpful.
