Throttle response via drive by wire is still horribe too.

I have thought the throttle response was delayed too. Is this something the dealer can adjust?

Mike

The throttle response in a 03 and newer truck can only be adjusted with a aftermarket tune like from blackbear performance I believe.

No dealer allowed adjustments. That "dead spot" that you feel is called Torque Management. It is put in there because of all the complaints people had from the GMT800 series trucks with the stack up lash in the drivetrain making the "clunk clunk" sound everytime you got on and off the throttle. Plus, it also aids in adding some "Abuse Management" as well to help keep driveline parts from getting thrashed under severe situations. A custom tune can be done to take a small amount or all of it out of the system.

I'll be honest, while I'd like some of it taken out of mine, I've also driven one with NO "dead spot" and almost made myself sick driving it because it was too touchy, imo.

What tires are you putting on after you burn the factory one off! (so easy to light em up in this truck, LOL)

I am going with 275/70/R18 BFG AT's

Was going to get them in the near future but with the purchase of a new car looming I am going to hold off a bit.

Factory Silverado '07/'08 model year 20's with 275/60R20 Michelin LTX AT/2's. Love those wheels (need to find a set) and I loved those tires on my '98. 40k with less than 3/32 of wear. Ride like a dream with traction for days. I'd sell my factory 18's/Bridgestones in a second to swap it out for the 20's and Michelin's.

Factory tire's where Goodyear LS2 - 275/55/20's, changed over to TOYO Proxies ST 305/50/20's. I get a better grip with the new tires but did loose some of the smooth ride IMO. Love the new look.

These are some photos of my new 2012 crew cab silverado, LTZ/Z-71, 6.2 truck. It has tinted windows, rancho Quick Lift loaded, rs 9000 rear shocks, ready lift rear 2-1/4 rear blocks, rear wheel well liners, optima battery, home link console, rear dulley factory led lights, And factory bed liner. I have added most of these options myself.

nice looking truck. I need to get some wheel well liners.

Had a set installed on mine before I took delivery. They look "unfinished" without, now that I'm use to seeing mine with them.

What's up guys, new to the site - but have had my 2011 gmc ccsb 6.2L for a little over a year. My first truck, and I love it. It was a demo with 5000 miles when I got it a year ago, and I have around 23500 miles on it now. Went with the gmc chrome grill, and put a backflip f1 bed cover on it. also scored a set of new takeoff denali 20in chrome wheels/tires from a dealer for 1000 bucks so I run those in the summer, and put the factory 17's that came with the max tow package on for the winter. Got the rear wheel well guards, as well as factory painted mudflaps all around.

Aftermarket parts include the volent cold air intake, with the separate extension that draws air from underneath the front air dam. I also replaced the stock muffler with a direct bolt on dynomax ultraflow muffler. The sound is perfect. No need to remove the stock resonator of get new exhaust pipes on this truck since the factory 3in pipe is great. I did not want to have any drone under cruising conditions, but wanted more sound under part throttle and wot acceleration, and this muffler is perfect for that. I also have hp tuners, so I have it tuned with that, raised the top speed limiter for my new tires, and adjusted speedo for my tires. Also changed theshift speeds a bit so it will not kickdown as easy so it will stay in lockup in 5th and 6th gears at a lower speed with a little more throttle than the factory settings to boost fuel economy. Highway, I get 18-21 mpg now, with the higher values at 65 mph cruise set and the lower around a 70mph cruise. My tank averages with my city commute is 16.5mpg usually over the whole tank.

Anyway, love the truck - best $32000 I ever spent. (Sticker was $42k)

Congratulations on the new truck! Sounds like you're enjoying it. Your next assignment is to post up some pictures.

I will get some pics when I can, not able to do it from my phone. I rarely get a day off where I can use my computer at home so it might take a little while before I can get some up. The one pic I have on my phone that I was going to use for my profile pic is too large to upload.
