Kind of amazed to see the F150 at the top of the chart, I do like my F150 better than the GMT900 I had but just see alot more Silverado's in this area. I guess if I was leave "GM Town" (Flint Mi.) a little more I probably wouldn't be the minority in my F150

It depends where you live . In BC I see alot of f150s in alberta its about 50/50 for GM and Ford and Dodge is right up their to. Most of the fleet trucks for oil guys I see have white F150s and for bigger trucks its HD GMs and chevs

From what I see of those charts is that year to year changes are showing more imports in the negatives than domestics. That's good news, where I come from.

I too didn't believe that imports could out number domestics, being from Michigan, until I went to our nation's capitol. I was appauled at the sheer amount of import vehicles running the streets of a city known as the capitol city of the United States. Call me silly but I really would rather see domestics out numbering the imports in that city than the other way around.

People buy what they think is the best value. To me we are on a global market . I like domestic cars for some reason but that does not mean their the best value vehicle. People talk with their money and if imports out sell domestic then most likely the value is higher on the imports . I believe most people make smart buying choices

Morgan they don't count Chevy/GMC together and Chevy probably sells 3 trucks to 1 GMC overall which is why you see the top 20 the way it is. In years past, GM combined outsold the Fords but no one ever says that. GM lost that in 2008 in terms of annual sales but there have been a few months GM came out ahead.

ChevyTech-

I was the opposite when I came here- I was like "where the hell are the imports?"

Definitely less in these parts and that's a good thing.

Yeah, at one time (and I hear that it still might be going on but kept under wraps a bit more) if you drove a non-GM vehicle onto a GM property, and you worked there, you were asked to park said vehicle in a completely different lot away from the building. I know for a fact that still goes on a bit at the GM Tech Center in Warren and honestly, I'd make the dipshits bring the bus to work, if it was up to me.

Considering you came from the Hippie capitol of America that surprises me none. At least when I went to NY state a few summers back there was a strong holding of domestics in that area.

The imports were getting pretty thick around here for a while though. After the whole bankruptcy thing, I think those people got sick of getting chewed out in the drive through about their purchase and went back to domestics. LOL.

I've been to the facility in Warren myself. I was given a Camry that trip and it reeked of cigarettes (I don't smoke and can't stand the smell). I went back to the counter and asked the lady for a swap and told her where I was going and said I felt it'd be proper to arrive in a GM vehicle. She put me in a Camaro. It was a V6 but this was June 2010 so they were still fairly new and the bright yellow paint turned heads everywhere I went. And it was a blast to drive.

NH is an odd animal- historically very conservative and still is to some degree (especially compared to its neighbors ) but the influx of people from Mass has made some areas pretty liberal/sissy; mainly the sounthen counties where a commute to Boston is still reasonable. But you're right- I know for sure the #1 seller of Hondas in the US is in the Boston area and I'd bet the other big import brands in and around the city are up there in sales volume too.

As for NY, depends on where you go. NYC and the surrounding mess is import haven like every other large city in the northeast or west coast. But upstate is like being on a different planet compared to NYC and the surrounding area.

I drove into NY through Canada/Buffalo and then drove through and up to the up state area about an hour north of Syracuse. That all pretty much looked like Michigan to me so I was good with it. I will NEVER get use to paying money to drive on a road though LOL.

Yeah toll roads are all over- Hell, I90 is a toll road though Massachusettes (where it starts), NY, Ohio, Indania and Illinois. Not sure beyond that. Towing the trailer from NH to MI cost me like $40 or $50. It's messed up as I think some of the states just go by total axles, so I paid more than a tandem axle coach bus.

And then you pay the toll to cross the bridges into Canada or come out. And then there is the customs agents. I swerar I think I have a tougher time coming back into the US than I do entering into Canada and I'm a damn US citizen! I've thought about getting that Nexus card but right now no one has my finger prints and I'd like to keep it that way.

Read the new car and driver and they did the HD truck test, chevy came out on top once more!!! Only thing they complained about was the poor visibility and that cheap ass interior GM cant seem to shake off lol.

I really need to go look at a Cruze interior at a dealership. The reviews I saw comparing it with the focus .... the focus won in the interior and speed.

Focus has more gadgets than the Cruze, I think the Cruze has things better laid out personally though. The higher end Focus models have a dash that looks like the cockpit of an airliner.

So I guess the new Impala is still Front Wheel Drive? :nonod:

Yes. RWD as a mainstream offering is dead. But the new hot rumor is Chevy may start selling the Caprice to us lowly civilians soon. 6.0 V8, RWD and a bit bigger than the G8 was too. Sign me up!

I don't like sales figures. Since the silverado and sierra are the same truck the figures should be combined. That impala looks amazing. Can't wait to rent one
