Drove my buddies 94 Z to get some tires. Man i forgot how loud a straight piped 350 was, that thing will wake the dead!

Got more stuff out of the storage unit yesterday. I'd like to say I'm making progress but the front half was the easy part, all the heavy bulky crap was loaded in the back half... :banghead:

Noticed my OnStar light is red. I can still call them but they said it can't be checked over the phone and to go to the dealer. Third failure-related trip this year to the dealer. Whatever. I'll call to see if they think it's covered by major guard GM warranty and if not I'll just live with it. Not throwing money into this thing.

Installed headlight flasher on my Sonoma. Maybe people will pay more attention when the pager goes off.

Starting the diagnosing of a Service Air Bag light. It was only coming on for the initial start up of the truck everyday. Now it seems it coming on whenever it feels like it. Hopefully can get it scanned while the stupid light is on so they capture the code. I have a feeling it's a sensor up front but want to be sure before spending the money.

I have a scanner that can read SRS codes.

Been a Busy 10 days and haven't had time to get online so here is what I did in the last 10 days to my truck... First I dipped the Bowties red it gives it a little accent color to match the hood decals and z71 sticker. Then I got my new tires put on Cooper AT3s 275 60 20. Then I put in a level kit and rear blocks in my buddies 10 Silverado. Also my simple wash job turned into a full on wax job, but took it out in the field today to work with the dog on water retrieves and brought it back home to wash it again. Also was able to squeeze in an oil change for our trip to Milwaukie this weekend, anyone know of anything good to do there? That is all ... Jeez seems like Ive had a lot of time to get stuff done. 20140730_181937_zpst9m41pbm.jpg

How do you like it? I just bought some blackfire wet diamond, just got here today. Wanted something a little faster for the Mazda since its outside 24/7 now.

When will they make a rock chip resistant wax. Cars in the land of trucks take a beating.

Probably put a fresh coat of Meguairs ULW (been a few months) and then the blackfire.

Day 1 of diagnose of "Service Air Bag" message with corresponding light:

Took to auto parts store, light not on, crap load of codes but none dealing with Air Bag....nuts!

Got home, disconnected battery, waited, then checked every connection I could think of to deal with air bag, all "looked" good.

I did note there is a metal track running under both seats with a sensor looking thing that glide over it as seat moves back and forth.

Passenger side was brand new looking but a little dusty, cleaned it up, looks good

Driver side, the metal rail is covered in surface rust and gobbed up with dust dirt and who knows what else. Cleaned it all up except rust.

Does this metal rail have anything to do with the air bag? Would the rust on the rail cause problems of any sort (air bag or otherwise)?

I will continue to try to get it scanned when the idiot light is actually on so I can capture a code, nothing I can do until then I guess.
