Just cleaned up this thread for the last time. Time to start handing out suspensions.

They do that stuff day in and day out. They should be able to get it out of there pretty quick, although I have trust issues when it comes to stuff like that. If it were mine, I'd probably remove the part that was to be painted. Should save on labor too.

I have a new tailgate handle and bezel (chrome is going on, black is coming off, and the bezel of the chrome handle is getting painted Deep Ocean Blue), so the only guy touching the tailgate on the truck is Yours Truly.

I was just wondering if I should remove the chrome handle. It looks like it's fairly securely attached, so maybe I should leave well enough alone.

Thank you for your suggestions though. In my older and less dumb age I've learned those older than me have buckets of know how to share.

I'd probably leave the handle. Really no reason to remove it, since you're only painting the bezel.

I'd paint it all myself but that's just me

I would, but:

A) My rattlecan skills are still improving

B) The bodyshop around here comes highly recommended

and C) Haven't found Deep Ocean Blue yet....hmmm should go to napa or the dealer and get some.

I want it to match the quality of the truck (or better, as I've heard indy shops can do). Can I do that myself? No.

On that note, once I get funds, I'll take the whole assembly down and tell them to have at it. Can't wait to get it on the truck

VLEDS really knows how to take care of a customer, ordered my HID's Tuesday late afternoon (eastern time) and they came Thursday, now that's fast! Just waiting to get my truck back from the body shop now so I can install them. Can't wait because my headlights are lacking some output

Putting HIDs on our '86 Grand Marquis was the best thing I ever did. They've been holding up great too - been on there almost 3 years so far without a single issue. Huge difference from sealed beams. Probably won't be as dramatic a change with a modern vehicle, but an improvement nonetheless.

This is high and low on at the same time. High is still the OEM sealed beam - it looks orange next to the 6k HID.

I had a 98 Grand Prix GT a few years ago. It needed HID's, the factory lights were horrible.

I had DDM tuning ones on my highs, lows, and fogs in my 02. For the price they were awesome and lasted 2 years, bet they are still on there honestly. I could really light up the night especially since they weren't adjusted correctly [emoji16]

Have to order rear brakes. While rotating tires a few wks ago noticed they were pretty worn. Thought they would hold up but started screeching time to replace. Going EBC with slotted rotors
