Damn Chevor, no wonder you have so many miles on your truck.. Keep it up and you'll shame that dude with the 2006 Silverado with 1.3 Million miles.

Sounds about right, nasty front rolled through Thursday and yesterday. Now it's moving out...I can hear the damn wind outside.

Got the GM Accessories Skid plate package for my truck yesterday. THOSE are skid plates. Proper skid plates that SHOULD have been factory parts. But I digress.

Drove to Laramie Wednesday before the storm hit. Cleared out my storage unit (other than the Cadillac), and started the Cadillac up for the first time since May. Like she was never parked :D

Got back early Thursday. It was kinda cool, could tell the storm was right around the corner, just not quite here yet.

May also get myself one heck of an Xmas present....almost don't want to say anything out of fear it will evaporate before the middle of December...

What you think it was my mudflap?

No saw, the exhaust hanger is stretching.

I just repaired a cluster for a guy that just bought the truck. On the back of the cluster it had my sticker from a previous repair in 2012. Found the problem and replaced the burnt bulbs with LEDs.

Cluster was staying on and draining the battery.

This guy wanted me to LED his cluster in green, I know the customer is always right but I don't particularly like it just because it turns all the red to brown. What do you guys think? He hasn't picked it up yet....

The customer is NOT always right. Most times the Customer is a dip stick dumb you know what who lacks any common sense and.. oh never mind.

Ran down the Cape this morning with this heifer. BMW X5 - thing weighs 5k! Sure doesn't look that heavy. Isn't really that big at all.

Maybe the Germans stuffed the door panels with lead.

Spent a few hours cleaning the windows, seats, and floor. I have a few previously white shirts/rags that thanks to my seats are no longer white, pretty nasty actually. First time I've personally taken a brush to them instead of using just a rag to clean them. I was going to wash the truck but with the sun out it got too hot and I got home after dark so not going to wash it in the dark. Seats look damn good for being 7 years old though.

The seats on my 07 still looked fantastic when I sold it. The better leathers wear easy so I figured it had a lot of vynil coating on it for it to hold up that well. I remember there were a lot of complaints with the (early) 800s wearing out to fast so that may have been the reaponse.

What has been the best leather in GM trucks to date? I liked the leather in my 08 but dang it cracked too easily on the sides. But then again anything cracks when 350 fatso like me sits on it.

Posted

My '07 hasn't cracked yet, although it's starting to get that wrinkled look to it on the side. Only 87,8xx on it, and it's a garage queen most of the time, so we'd hope it ain't cracked.

The driver's side on mine has wear and tear but I've seen a lot worse on far newer trucks. Especially considering how little it's been maintained. I think my '06 ended up tearing on the right side seat bolster area from the butts digging into over the years. The '06 also had darker leather so me coming out of work black every morning didn't show as quickly as it does with this light interior on the '09.

This morning at the shop I repaired a 22733523 FOB for an 06 Cobalt, the replaced the speedometer gauge stepper in a 2004 Silverado HD cluster, cleaned and calibrated it.

Then on my truck I re-installed the lower valance which was missing when I bought it. It will probably break with the first heavy snow but it must have been put there for a reason. Only $55
