I have to laugh when I read that K&N filters are great because a person used them for X-many years and their engine is still running. Very scientific!

If you haven't bought one yet you might want to read this : http://www.nicoclub....em-filter.html.

You can draw your own conclusions, but I'm saving my money for other mods (I don't consider louder intake noise at the price of dirtier oil a useful mod.).

And I have to laugh at an idiot with 3 post that can't type in the correct size font that thinks that because he read some article he's smarter than the rest. I have oil sample results to prove that it has done no damage to my engine big shot. BTW....your link doesn't work genuis....

It might actually help if you can give us a page that works insteads of page not found. Wow, what an idiot,

Throw that K&N junk in the trash and put a stock filter in it problem solved, your maf sensor was dirty just think now all that dirt is in your motor too. I just dont know why people rave about K&N filters when they do nothing but let more dirt in the motor and your gains are nothing.

They might be good on the race circuit where they get there hipe for high HP motors but those motors are tore down and rebuilt after every race.

NOT true......They are the only filters we use at the dirt track and there is no dirt in the motor. You may want to do some research or have some experience with race engines before making a statement like that. If that were the case, we would not use them in our cars with $15,000-$20,00 engines at a dirt track.

Also don't have the engine torn down EVER after a race..... Only time that's done is to replace worn parts or when it blows up.

That made me laugh, here check this website http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest3.htm they used a filter after the K&N to do there tests and see for yourself the what the filter after the K&N caught. Check this site on how K&N ranks on trapping dirt. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html

"He" has this filter, "I" have a K&N, "you" wouldn't put this in your truck, "they" already have...all points need to be left to their own respective threads.

Getting back to the OP, when did you say your going to take it back to the dealer for a reset? Hope it fixes your problem as I just had to tear into my wife's Jeep the day for a wandering RPM problem (~500-1000) at idle. Cleaned the throttle body/plate and triple checked that I didn't leave anything loose or broken seems to have cured it.

OP,

I did this to mine a few months ago and I had an absurd idle as well. I just kept driving and it fixed itself, dont go to the dealer it will go back to normal in a few days.
