So I went down to the local collision repair place and got a quote for my truck's cancer problem. $4,000!!! What?!! Are you crazy?!! Just to replace the rockers, cab corners, patch the rear door and clean up the bottom of the front doors. Really?!! This doesn't include the box which he said is not repairable without buying whole sides or get a used box from another truck! That sucks! Has anyone else had this type of body work done? If so, how much did yours cost? Is it worth the money on a 12 year old truck??

Way too much,I would get a few more quotes if you are set on keeping the truck, otherwise, save the cash towards your next truck.

You maybe able to save some by replacing the parts 1st then letting them prep and paint

Not worth it at all. If you really like the year/style of truck, you should be able to find a replacement for not more than 2X that amount.

If your environment is such that it rusted the truck out, the repairs will not last anyway. I just sold 1998 and it had no body rust at all.

amazing that some trucks rust and some dont. my 2001 dosent have any body rust yet.

definatley would just try and fix it yourself or sell the truck now.
