It's not like any one of the big three would not do the very same thing and brag about it. Anybody seen how ridiculous TV commercials are? Every manufacturer claims theirs has the best blah blah blah....

I know. But the Toyota is a little more than a half ton. A 5/8 ton possibly?

I know they all do it and have their exploits. I'm curious if someone is going to overload and expect warranty work when it fails

I remember the commercials where they were driving the truck up and down a giant teter-totter... not so much a real life scenario

Click the link DanMan posted. Watch the video. Is compare a 5.7 tundra to a NHT. A friend has a CrewMax, nice truck. Great ride and a good amount of power. With my dyno tune his truck and mine have close to the same amount of power. His rides nicer than mine, but I don't like the interior

The little more than a half ton part came from the head engineer.

I remember several years back, I sold parts at a Furd dealership. :nonod:

There was a guy in a F150 pulling tree stumps out of the ground.... "trying" that is.

Anyways, the chain broke & the violent jerk that insued blew both his front airbags. He had the truck towed in claiming it was a warranty issue!!! Back then Ferd had those commercials of the F250/350 Super duty Turbo Diesels pulling trees up & hauling a load of timber out on a trailer!! HA! :bs:

I told our advisor he should warn the guy NOT to drive his F150 off into the ocean & attempt to swim with sharks!!! (that was another commercial for the Furd Expedition back then). LOL!!! :rollin:

If that's true, then why does every Crewmax I have looked at have a rated payload (door jamb sticker) of less ~1300 lbs, whereas my truck is 1560 lbs? I'd be curious what your friend's door jamb says...

Yea that 5/8 term came from me being sleep deprived. I had to think if he said its more than a half ton what would it be.
