If that's what you're looking for a 327 may be right for you. They're generally more efficient. I've seen people swap in 5.3's from the newer trucks as well. I saw one with low miles sell complete for $1000.

How does power reliability parts price and stuff like that compare to the 350? I would love a 6.0, I drove one once it was a lot of fun

 

But I would probably just go with a newer truck if I decided on a 6.0 or 383

They have quite a bit more power than a 350. The 5.3 in my truck runs really well, it only has 95k on it but so far nothing other than oil changes. I'd also add that it burns virtually no oil, I had to add quite a bit to my 350. You would love the 6.0. But you're right about getting a new truck. As much as I'd love to revive my 1990, right now I have other priorities.
