It is very nice and good for a small family. I just dont like the fact its a compact suv, i feel like the exterior body panels are flimsy and made of very thin metal-- you can push in all the panels with your finger, when its cold the windshield pops a lot. The thing appears to be made very cheaply and the inside is all plastic. It looks cheap. It takes quite a while to get the heat going in the winter but im just used to a 2002 suburban z71 , from when gm didnt cut corners. I think you will be very pleased with the equinox i just drive my sub all then drive the equinox and its a big diffrence. If you get the 3.6 be sure to get awd if you live where it snows. You'll need it

Wow. Kind of sounds worse than the Cruze. I would prefer AWD, but it's not a deal breaker. We put studded snow tires on the Wife's Cruze, and it made that thing go like a tank.

Good luck with your equinox [emoji4]

You need a Subaru, fully loaded Outback is $36k IIRC. For one with alloys and CVT around $25k is pretty normal. I realize this is a GM site but I guarantee it will be more reliable than an Equinox.

The amount of tm in the 3.6 is just unreasonable. It feels like you put it in neutral through each shift lol

I wonder why they dropped the 3.0? We test drove one with that engine back when they first redisigned them, and it felt really snappy with plenty of power and torque.

It has a surplus of power and torque it does 0-60 in 6.6 with traction problems but it has just so much abuse mode and tm you feel it every shift and take off. I have no abuse mode, engine tm, and 75% tm for trans removed in the 5.3 with DBC and during shifts its totally noticeable in the 3.6 when 3.6 shifts it just revs up and cuts power during shifts to the point where the spedo stops moving. The thing needs a blackbear

It's an Equinox not a Camaro, the people who buy Equinoxes are not looking for a sporty feel they are most likely looking for something that is smooth

They are damn quick with the 3.6 and awd though to bad they cut off at 112

My 11 Silverado 6.2 would do that. A lot of times if I was hard into the pedal on acceleration the TM would kick in so bad that it would basically not let the truck shift. Felt like it stopped it in it's tracks for a moment.

Anything at or over 1/2 throttle will kill the 3.6 awd during shifts
