It's pretty ridiculous that I bust my ass all night at this job and there's a good 6-7 people that wander around doing nothing and don't get in trouble. it seems if you smoke you get x amount of breaks, and the janitor here doesn't even clean she will push the cart into an area then go sit down and smoke or play with her phone. Is there something wrong here or is it just me? Because if I do any of these things I'm told to go home or get questioned immediately..

You can take this far and get some people in serious trouble if you wanted but hell, its all the same in the Military too! Most smoke and pretend they are doing stuff and never get a thing said then of course you got people.like you and I who don't smoke, well I don't, and get tasked to do something else so I decided to start going to the smoke pit few years ago when my co workers do. Now I can have my breaks lol!

It's the same at any job. Same crap happens at UPS. I get in trouble for doing "nothing" as the supervisor continues to talk to another hourly for the next 30 minutes.

If you keep your head down, mouth shut, and do your job you'll never have a problem. Spend any wasted time worrying about what others are doing is a huge waste of time and just makes you miserable

I always keep my mouth shut and work but the weird thing is is that I somehow get pulled in the office for ring quiet. For the first year I worked here I was in and out of that office nonstop for not being friendly or looking mad. I always said what? I come here to work not socialize and prance around like some kind of nut job.. My boss finally figured it out but I just can't seem to figure these people out idiots get whatever they want and hard workers get stuck in the same spot forever..

I hope I dont get people angry, but Sarah, it sounds like your talking about our government!!! Push around a few papers for 8 hours, take an hour lunch, and get paid mad money.

 

Sorry, I see a lot of that in the Northern VA area because thats mainly all the jobs is govt, and Im out working 10-14 hour days everyday. 10 hour day is a treat for me! haha

Hell I love my job. I wouldnt trade my 24hr shifts at the fire house for anything

You GMT 800 guys should switch your DRL's to ambers park/blinkers. It's super easy and it makes your turn signals way more visible during the day.

I ran amber DRLs in my 2003. I just randomly picked up the bulbs one day, never having seen it locally in NH. Not sure but I think I started the trend.
