The tow rating and hauling capacity of the truck won't matter to the Ram guys. As long as they come with tow mirrors and they are able to run stacks, they will be happy.

Dodge is going to have the best tow vehical soon .

Gm blew it when they scrapped the idea. It would have went over huge around here.

I'm not sure- one of the articles I read said something along the lines of them expecting 10k more sales a year. That doesn't seem too big to me when you're moving 300k or more trucks.

I would get one with smarty stacked with edge stacked with hptuners stacked with efilive

Me too, only I would also have stacked with stacks with stacked cold air intake stacked

Face it folks, this is a game changer. Bad thing is, it took Fiat to do it - no American company would step up to the plate.

I welcome the idea!

I like the idea. Tuning it would be fun. For what I use a truck for my truck now is capable enough, but I would like the gas mileage they say it would get.

You can bet everything that you own if Ram 1500 diesel sales are high, GM and Ford will follow. No suprise, this is how the automotive industry works.

Dodge has really pulled there weight in the past little while. Best interior, most gears, and good engines.

Most of that is debatable, especially since no one has seen the GM's first hand or seen what Ford has up it's sleeve for the F150. The Ram looks nice inside but after sampling both the high line and low line infotainment systems (Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger), I can safely say the Chevy MyLink system I had in a rental Malibu this week destroys anything Ford or Chrysler currently has in terms of behaving nice and looking good too. As for gears, you can only get the 8-speed in the V6 currently and it definitely needs it. The press has been gushing with praise for the new 3.6 but I've now driven a Challenger that had that and a 5-speed auto, a Charger with the same combo and a 300 with the 8 speed. Both 5 speeds were gutless and the 8 speed was better, but not great. And those are much lighter sedans. As for the 5.7, it seems okay, but GM V8s have been and always will be better, even being down on power. I know tons of people with 200k+ on GM trucks and not a single Dodge owner who can claim the same.

GM tried an oil burning 1500 this not too long ago and failed on an epic level. Not even our local GM dealers would take one back on trade. GM is still struggling to be on its own post-bankruptcy and can't repeat the same mistakes over & over again. Obama will not let GM fail again as long as the goberment still controls GMs check book. Fast forward to today. Diesel is way more expensive than gasoline, need for DEF and gas engines are getting better every year. The economics are not there for another oil burning GM 1500. GM's diesel 1500 will sit on the shelf right next to the Raptor killer.

Tell me more sir.

if diesel's so prohibitively expensive, then how do you explain the DIESEL POWERED Cruze Coming out NEXT YEAR?

Won is a automotive industry expert I am surprised he hasn't been picked up by the "big 3"

The last 1500 diesel was built in 1994 or 1995 I think. That was nearly twenty years ago, which was a long time ago. Granted I don't think a light duty diesel is going to be some game changer, as I said, they're hoping for 10,000 additional sales per year, that's well under a 10% gain. For the reasons you mention I don't think they'll be too popular. I am curious to see what it does to Cummins/HD sales for them. Might not do much because a modern Euro Diesel engine probably won't spew smoke so the white trash tools who like that shit will still buy the big trucks.

Aren't you a moderator? What is wrong with people that want black smoke? Why are they white trash? I can't help but laugh as I type this but you shouldn't post like that as a moderator hahahahaha

Too late. Rolling coal is stupid, I won't take back what I said. Thankfully it seems most popular with Dodge people so we don't have to deal with it here.

Ok then calling people white trash and swearing is ok for moderators glad that's been cleared up.

My second part is edited.
