Hey fellas and ladies! Been a while since I’ve been in here.... a long while. My Zone 6.5” kit has been on for ALMOST 8 months, but I’m already itching to upgrade it a bit. I’m looking into 6-8” coil overs that won’t break the bank, and also looking for something to help get rid of the awful looking block in the back. Here are some pics of the ride. ed87a3acf7d99f6e9270c9be43914a7f.jpgf99e90df4414e039c5ad66150c499860.jpg5e74e2e201cf5c023cf69d8f1a2c883a.jpg

Keep in mind if you get a 6-8” Coilover you can’t/shouldn’t run them past 6.5”. The Zone kit is a 4.5-6.5” kit so at 6.5” it’s maxed out. Truck looks good also

Thanks, man! I was planning on running it at 6.5”. I just want to keep the ride height I’m at now, so I figured a 6-8” coilover would help.

The Fox DSC Coilovers from the bds kit would fit perfectly

Looks good. Do you have any pics looking directly from the front of the truck so I can see the change in track width?

No I don't. But it did increase the track width ~1.5" in front. I have had bad experiences with spacers on performance cars in the past, so not sure I want to go down that road again. For now, it doesn't bother me enough to worry about it.

Looks nice! I don't know if they sell it separately but when I got the BDS kit I opted for the full rear leaf pack instead of the block. I think the up-charge was around $400 or so. I think it still sits on the stock block, so you may have to get those if you didn't keep your old ones. My fender height went up 5 1/4" from stock and sits just below the front after the BDS 6" lift (less than 1/2", but I almost always have some weight back there pulling it down too). Install might be interesting, I guess the shop I went to hadn't done many of them and didn't realize the mounting bolts for the leaf springs all have something right behind them (tow package, gas tank, don't remember exactly). They didn't outright say it but I got the impression there would be a bit of an installation upcharge for the next one of those that they do.

If you had a choice to change anything about doing a lift what would it be and is it rough riding?

Well I bought the truck with the lift already installed from a dealership that specializes in performance cars and lifted trucks. I think it rides better than my Ford Explorer, but not as good as my wife's Lincoln MKZ. So I think it's fine for what it is, I have no complaints at all about the way it rides.

Fabtech Gen 2 kit is a great choice! Did not widen track width! Quality products!

What did your overall height end up being? I know it fits in your garage because of the pictures posted but have you had it in any parking garages. Waiting to see what the tires do too, if they rub with the factory wheels.

Hey fellow lifted truck friends. Slightly off topic; looking for a solid snow or cable suggestion for a 35x12.5x20 setup I have on my 6” lifted truck. Have never needed chains and only carry a set that doesn’t even fit as its required to carry in some winter conditions in CA. Just bought a 34’ trailer that’s 8k lbs and want to have a good set of chains on the rear tires of the truck if I get into icy road conditions as I’m taking it winter camping often up in the Sierra Mountains. Any recommendations welcomed.

I totally get safe driving and common sense go a lot further than a set of chains. Won’t be putting 14k lbs on ice if avoidable. Want an option to help get me out of bad weather and road conditions if I absolutely must drive. I’m an experienced tower of a 5k lbs boat, just not in winter conditions. Thanks!

I know everyone is saying that the fabtech 4 inch budget lift kit is a glorified leveling kit, but what about the basic system? It’s a step above the budget lift and it replaces the knuckles. Anyone have any experience or advice on this lift?

Critics will always have something to say, mostly negative unless you follow their advice and most of the time they have absolutely no experience other than he said she said. Go with what you know. Hopefully, you know that going higher than 2” “always” affects the geometry of your suspension in a negative way, diff drops are cheap to do and help tremendously. New Knuckles will widen your track. I highly recommend CST Suspension systems. Little by little you’ll figure out what’s best for your own vehicle. Good Luck! [emoji106][emoji2532]
