So If I bought the 4.5 Zone Lift without adding the AAL or changing the blocks, my truck would still have a slight rake?

if you used the 4" blocks the kit comes with you'd have about 1/4" rake

The kit i was considering comes with new upper control arms and shocks if i chose that option, truck only has 22k miles, so not sure i need or want to change the shocks already.. may get that kit anyway just to have the shocks on hand when its time to replace

http://www.tuffcountry.com/lift-kits/chevy/silverado-1500/

dont get that kit, it does nothing to correct the lower BJ or TRE angles

So my truck is 2wd LT

Didnt have a chance for the pic at lunch today. Will do after work and post then.

I plan on doing the install myself, as i did on my past truck.. the kit i was looking at from tuff country is the

4″ 14057

You should look into a spindle lift for a 2WD truck. Achieves lift and preserves good angles. I'll link a couple places for you.

Thanks for the suggestions.. the prices though are out of my price range.. If I can find a good kit for $500 or less that's what I'm looking to get.. the rough country kit is better deal than the tuff country kit I was looking at.. I was able to take a pic of the control arm and tested with magnet, so its not the aluminum kind.. but not sure the angle of the picture is good enough to tell if its the stamped or cast one.. ill post in a few..

I have a 2014 SLT 1500 with the GMC 20x8.5 wheels. I did the 4.5 spindle kit from maxtrac suspension and fit 35x11.5x20 Nitto Ridge grapplers, no spacers and without trimming or rub. Truck sits level and rides well. 4.5 was just right for my 2WD daily driver. A shop here did it in 3.5 hours for 1200. Very impressed with it. Great suggestion

You have the same upper control arms as I do. What are you trying to accomplish with your lift? 33" tires? Larger? Or just a decent size lift...

So the install was $1200 beefjr? or that was total kit /install cost?

My last truck I was happy with the leveling kit.. was able to put on some larger tires and get a more aggressive look.. with this truck I wanted to step up to a lift instead of just leveling kit.. so figured the 3.5"/4" lift would be the step to take..

I'm not in need of new tires yet as the truck only has 22k miles on it.. but will def upgrade to larger more all terrain tires when its time..

I see. Beefjr detailed his setup for you. The 4.5" kit runs around $650. Comes with everything you need.

Here is a link to realtruck.dotcom for every Maxtrac lift for a 2015.

    • The "source" a woman, that writes the article is not a far right person. She's pretty well known "car person". She writes her own stuff, but yes it is initially posted under the Blaze, because they purchased the right to post it first, before it is posted on her own sites. It doesn't mean the info is any less valid. the article itself is not political It's not meant to discount any current actions in the Iran   Only posted the link because that's what has to be done to be legal to post the article. The Blaze is not a site I use. Lauren Fix's page pointed me there and I have to use a bypass method to look at the article since I'm not about to join the site. I've posted articles over the years from the Lefty sites, seems you didn't have a problem with that.   But you do you, keep looking at everything only through left/right lenses.   The 3 or 4 of you that participate in the some of the comments had ample chance to read everything. Other members that don't care for it, send in comments, because as they will point out, political talk is discouraged. • Would be cool if someone made something most people would like.   Like a plug in tune that is to the end users desire minus messing with the throttle petal factory settings. Sport, economy and WFOT.
    • I don’t. The source is a far-right fake news site perpetuated by Glenn Beck. Funny how you clean up political posts and then regurgitate garbage from politically tainted sites.
    • Not a distraction. You miss the point of the article. It's not just for today's situation. Another way AI is being used and it may explain some of the prices changes when there is no apparent event to cause a 25 cent jump out of nowhere, only to immediately, the next day, begin to drop by 2 cents and so on. These situations were happening before the Iran thing fired off.   I used to be in the retail gas/service business. Pretty much a $1 increase in WTI would increase my price by maybe .10 cents. Now WTI can go down and retailers can get hit with a .35 cent increase out of nowhere.   I thought it was interesting read, since this is being used on all products we buy now
