Nice

I went to pickup a mike Norris can on friday but he was out of town at a race in Michigan. Have to go back Monday.

Ryan

Just a heads up, when I called Mike last week, he said he didn't have any cans in his shop right now and suggested I order from www.ws6project.com, it was $2 cheaper than direct from him and includes insured shipping.

Also, for anyone wondering, I used exactly 6 feet of Gates Barricade Greenshield fuel hose that I got from napa. I am probably going to be checking the tightness of all the hardware for the job next week, I am even considering undoing all the hardware and applying blue locktite to everything. The mike norris mount only uses a small allen head set screw to hold the can in place, I dont want it backing out.

Overall, I am very happy with the job. I wish I could have used those pre-existing bolt holes but hey, drilling a small hole was no big deal, the job only took me 30 mins, even with those mishaps in the beginning. I do recommend doing this job for our trucks, it is easy and cheap insurance against a potentially large and expensive, major repair. I only have the 4.8L which doesn't seem to have to the oil burning problem as much but I am excited to see how much this thing catches in a few weeks!

Mike has 100 at his other shop in town didnt have a chance to take to the new shop. He is going to have them available tomorrow

Did the hose not come with yours?

No the hose did not come with mine. My kit included like a 16" section of hose...useless.

Ok for you guys wanting to know where I drilled the hole, basically just measure over (left) 1 inch from the upper pre threaded hole on the side of your alternator bracket and drill there. Your two holes will be hollow, they wont be filled in like you see on mine, those are the bolts I tried to use earlier in the job and they broke off. Now I cant get them out!

As far as where to cut the hose, just look closesly at my first set of pics, you can see that I cut roughly 6-8 inches down stream from both the connections, so they were pointing towards the can. It also helps to spray the factory plastic lines with silicone spray before you slide your new fuel hose on. It will make the new hose slide on easier and easier to position. Do not over tighten your hose clamps either! Just snug them up lightly or you can even use the pinch style clamps I used on the can side of the hoses.

Nice, Lets see it when it is installed!

I just opened mine for the first time today. It has been 50 miles so far, nothing at all came out. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not. I guess I will give it 500 miles or so and open it again.

The black fittings look nice! Please keep us updated on how much oil your can collects. It has been 100 miles and mine hasn't seemed to collect even a film.

Also, I noticed that the tiny stumble in rpms when idling my truck is gone. When idiling with the engine in park, the rpms would stay just above 500 but would drop down to 500 and then climb just a hair over 550 before leveling out again. The engine was only doing this the SLIGHTEST amount before I installed the can but it is competely gone now. Other people have noticed it too, please keep an eye on that and tell us if it changes on your truck.

The black fittings cost just a bit more but thats ok.

Took a 100 mile trip yesterday. Haven't checked the can, will probably do so around 500 miles. Also didnt see any fluctuation in rpms. My 6.3L has always idled at 600

Ryan, where did you get the black fittings from?

They came with the catch can.

Our Gen2 Catch Cans are the same as our Base Units with Upgraded Fittings
