I don't know any better so Ill give this a shot. I lose 2 miles per gallon per tank in the city when its cold due to warm ups. Ten minutes in the morning ten at night. One other thing that is weird, if I buy store brand gas I do worse than name brand. I due better with 93 gas than 87. Hope that helps

EXACTLY! GM needs someone looking at this...even though the southern boys in this thread think we're nuts...this is a real issue in the cold!

Where is the GM service Rep? They seem to show up in every other cotton picking thread on this site?!

I don't trust that other Meter that's hook up to AFM system, Its way off and OnStar is to. I trip even the dealerships are back away from that bragging about fuel stuff. They going with 14mpg in city 20mpg hwy. since update. I know everybody wants going with that meter but do a trip meter test and app test on your phone there is no way that math and 2 meters can be off that much. my car has winter gas in it and it still doing 19.9MPG all day. is this truck that sensitive. Its a truck not a toy.

Thanks for the input. Auto Start / Warm absolutely effects mileage reading...no doubt...I accept that. I've tried higher Octane and I've tried "top tier" gas. No difference.

I operate this truck the same way I did my 2012. It's very frustrating. I have yet to get 300 miles out of a tank of gas in this truck. 260 miles has been the best and that was coasting the thing in on fumes. I expected better, I should be getting better.

Am in Arkansas and am been having problems with mine I have a lawyer on the case now, Dealer said customers are coming complain about a lot. But it is something to do with AFM system using more gas then less since update.

You're kidding me...you had to get a lawyer? I got sick and didn't make it to work or my dealer for a few days,,,but I'm talking to them now...The only other issue I have is the frigging fog in the headlights all of the time.

Hi guys I have been watching my mileage fairly closely and so far I am very pleased with my truck. I hate to see anyone suffer through a problem that is not easily figured out by the dealer. It is going to cause a lot of wasted time for the owner and dealership. I applaud Mr Ton J for hanging in there and demanding that something be done. He took a lot of ragging on this one thread before everyone figured out that he was actually sincere. Mr Ton J please keep us updated on the results. Heck man after this is over YOU may be the one that makes the GM folks figure out their mistake and they can reflash/ retune all our trucks and we will be getting like 30 mpg from here forward BAM 2014 CC SB SLT 4x4 5.3 3.42 20" wheels

The first trip I made in my truck was to IL pulling trailer with 6000lbs approx and it was like 8-10 degrees whole trip. My mileage never changed but I have a 6.2 also. I do live in south in AL but it was under 15 degrees for about 3-5 days and didnt get over 25 for 2 weeks almost and my dads 5.3 wasnt affected. Not sure why its affecting yall up north trucks? Maybe yalls gas is really not as good. Maybe its greater than E10 why not buy a test kit and test it. Im not ragging on you just trying to be helpful. BTW the dealers are not always the smartest cookies in the bunch! Applies for all brands. They still learning about these newbies too!!

If you've had the "fire Update" GM fattened the mixture, hence the black smoke. Others have reported a significant loss in MPG. I have also, but I would say it's a combination of extreme cold temperature, my new exhaust and a lead foot and the new calibration

This a member that lives up north and I seen more. GM trying to stay with originally spec for fuel setting on this engine but when u reprogram it that goes out the window. And I agree 50% might not have problems and thats why GM calls it a win. But there is a problem when truck starts off great and goes bad come on now. We all are customers and chevy die hearts but we deserve better.

I have filled up 4 times now in my new 2014 sierra 1500 4x4 with the 4.3 V6. About 50/50 highway/city driving and I'm only averaging 25 MPG. No towing or hauling other than a cross bed tool box. Love the truck but this mileage can't be the norm.

What are you guys getting?

are you saying that's bad? on a new, unbroken in engine? I have 4,000 miles on my 5.3/V8 and am at 13.2. I'm taking it into the dealer next week and am going to go off.

25 mpg sounds like you are doing well...even better than what it's rated.

I have 4500 on my 5.3 and if I drive freeway I get great mileage but in town it's all stop and go and all one to two mile trips I can get as low as 9.8mpg
