I don't see what your complaining about here. Your MPG even on the highway isn't going to be over 20 mpg because of the hilly terrain in TN. Personally if I was getting almost 19 mpg on the highway in your area I'd be estatic.

Thing is, I'm in the same area as him and get considerably better fuel economy. I routinely see 23-25 avg on my last 25 mi on the DIC.

 

tnchevy, one other item that could be a difference maker is the wheels/tires combo. Mine has the standard 18s with the Goodyears.

What's your lifetime? The 25 mile range is worthless in my opinion. On mine with the 6.2L, lift and 35's I can get it to say 22mpg but I know that's not what I'm getting in reality.

My truck had 250ish miles on it when I purchased it. I reset the #2 Trip/fuel economy at that time. I have over 12k miles now and have not reset it. My lifetime average according to the DIC is 19.2.

My all time bests are posted above but they are pretty good too.

FWIW, I tow a boat to/from the lake and made that trip 2 times this weekend which is very hilly and nets me about 9mpg on that trip. I had about 1500lbs in the truck bed last week, twice.

My point is that I do use my truck on occasion and its not all hwy miles. Mostly, but not always.

I do check the DIC against the actual numbers at the pump and they line up really well.

A 19.2 mpg lifetime is great for hilly TN. I'm rocking about 13.5 mpg lifetime but I do about 95% city. I too have been impressed with how accurate the DIC is in the new trucks.

So far I'm getting around 11 mpg around town. I don't work that far from where I live (only about 5 miles round trip) plus I use the remote start for a couple minutes in the morning usually. And I get around 17 on the freeway. Considering it's the 6.2L with a 10" lift and 38" inch tires it's not too bad. Obviously I wasn't too concerned about gas mileage but it's a pleasant surprise when it gets a little better than I was expecting.

I am running the stock 18's with stock good years. I have not touched my "trip 2" since I bought the truck and it says 19.5 mpg but it is about a mile per gallon off. My hand calculation has me at 18.8. I don't go by the 25 and 50 mile averages, they are useless. I have always got at the top of what the epa stickers say in every vehicle in my household but this one. 19 mpg is not bad but for all this extra technology I am not impressed compared to GM's trucks from 15 years ago. Once I put more aggressive and heavier tires (like my last truck that got 17.8 mpg) and take the air dam off I am sure I will be getting around 18 mpg or worse.

Between 70-75 mph. I'm not sure what gears. The dealer wasn't the one who installed them so they couldn't tell me for sure. At 70 mph it was running right around 1600 rpm on flat roads.

I am averaging about 18mpg in my truck since the weather started getting nicer. I don't count winter mileage at all. That's about 75% city, 25% highway

I'm averaging high 17s on my 5.3 4X4 CC. This is in plain flat south FL. When I take the highway though, I get it up to the 20-21 mark cruising at 70-75. Driving around town brings me down to 14-15 though, and I'm honestly not impressed at that. Makes me rethink my lifting plans. Granted, this is still better on my wallet than the BMW I used to daily before the truck.

I've noticed that if you put the truck in M6 you'll go into V4 more often. I have done this the last few days and noticed my mileage has gone up 2 MPG during my commute to work

I left my trip B the same since I bought it Jan 2nd and it's currently at 17.4 mpg. I check every tank and DIC has been within .4 mpg on every tank but 1 ( it was off .9 on 1 tank for some reason). That's pretty good with a 6.2 and mostly cold weather driving.

I have a 2015 with the 6.2 8 speed and 3.23 gears I drive about 35 miles round trip a day and try to drive 65 depending on traffic and as long as I don't get on it to much and stay out of town I get 19.6 ( hand calculate ) witch is one less then what the DIC says and the best I have got is 20.3 hand calculated witch I think is good for the 6.2 considering my 09 5.3 only got 17 at best on the highway I don't know about the new 5.3 but I call bs on anything over 20 with 6.2. I drive very conservative when trying to get good MPGs. My wife has a 2012 equinox with the 2.4 rated for 31 mpg and she drives around 80 miles a day highway and only gets around 26 and only on long all highway trips has she seen 29 so for v8 truck compared to a 4 cylinder Ecco crossover I can't complain. I went from my 09 getting at most 330 or so miles when the fuel light comes to this truck around 420 when it comes
