Looking to level my truck (2014 Crew Cab LTZ / Z71). At the front fenders I measure 36" and 36.5" and the rear measures 38.75"

Although I like the new BFG A/T T/A KO2's, an LT275/70/18 will not be out until March 1st according to the website. I have been looing at the Dura Trac's and the Cooper S/T MAXX, and will most like go with the Cooper's. I have been spending countless hours, according to the wife, reading and looking and pictures on this site, and figure I'd ask for some help.

With leveling the truck do I need to add or change the rear block? I was thinking of buying a 2.5" level kit, but can I opt not to use the top spacer and go with 2" and see if I like some rake since I tow a bass boat, or do I need to purchase only a 2" kit?

As far as the tires, it seems the majority of people are doing a 2 or 2.5" lift and using 275/70-18 tires. I was wondering if there was enough clearance WITHOUT and trimming or cutting if going to next size tire; LT285/65-18 which is 32.8x11.8 on Cooper's website and 33.1x11.8 for Goodyear Dura Trac LT295x65-18?

I have the stock 18" Z71 rims for now until I upgrade to a set of Raceline's 18x9.

I looked into the Bilstein's but they will only lift 1.8" and I think that would give me a little more rake than I want.

Thanks in advance for your time!

If you don't plan on lifting the front 2.5" then the 2" kit is the route to go.

The 2.5" kit is the 2" kit + an extra 0.5" front strut top hat spacer and the rear block (swaps out the stock 1" for a 2" block).

So to answer your question I believe you're looking for just the 2" RC kit which is a good choice but your truck will be level and have little to no rake.

As for the tires sizes you listed... 285 is 11.2" wide and not 11.8", you shouldn't have any problem fitting the 285/65/18 although it is wider, it is not as tall just an FYI.

I guess you need to iron out what it is exactly you want, hope this helps!

Which tires will fit boils down to wheel offset. Your stock wheels should be a 5.5" backspace. The Duratrak 295/65 will be close with those wheels. You may get some light rubbing on the plastic fender liners at the bottom edge (front tires only). You can tie them back with zip ties. I have 305/60 (real specs 32.6 x 12.1) and they didn't rub with the stock wheels (even without a level kit) for about 8 months. I now have the same tires on some Fuel Anza 18x9, 5.75" backspace wheels with a couple inches of lift and haven't had any rubbing yet., but I haven't driven it much either. Wheel offset is more critical when you get larger tires.

All this talk about needing a leveling kit to clear the tires isn't how I approached it. I figure if a tire would rub on a stock height truck setting still, it would rub on a level when you turn the wheel and hit a small bump that compressed the suspension a couple inches. I guess some guys don't hit bumps and turn at the same time.

Mastercraft courser mxt 285/70/17, I have less than 100 miles on them so no opinion on wear. They have more road noise than what i expected based on reviews i read before buying. I paid $841 to my door from treadepot. They ride a little rough due to being a load range e tire. Havent ran them long enough to give a good review but i love the way they look.

Wow man shiloh that looks great. What color is that Chevy? Metallic iridum? Or Chevy's Equivalent? Let us know how the mastercraft's hold up i've heard good things, considering their price.

Did you do vinyl for the emblem or paint?

Thanks, it is brownstone metallic, bowtie is plasti-dip i still need to do the back and side emblems. Also have black iron cross step bars and bestop bed cover coming. I will post better pics when i get them on and post updates on tires although i only average around 7k miles a year.

Was thinking it was tungsten metallic. I've been trying to get an idea of what my iridium metallic would look like with say fuel Mavericks. Can't seem to find many people out there with that color that have changed rims.
