Are those Rigid lights that you replaced the stock fog lights with? How tough was it to wire them in?

Wiring was very easy, I just use a harness from an HID kit so that it was completely plug and play.

 

Just connect/splice the HID harness and LED pig tails together than use the plug end and just plug right into the stock plug so there is no damage done to the stock harness.

Also, I want to fit 33s in my Silverado, with as little trimming as possible. From reading through this thread, the RC 2.5 or 3.5 should be enough for that purpose?

You don't need a 2.5 or 3.5 to fit 33's, I ONLY have a front RC 2". I didn't have to trim a single thing and there is NO rubbing at all, there is still a ton of room.

 

If I'd went with the 3.5" I would only put 35x12.50 tires since the 33's would look small.

For those with a 2.5" RC leveling kit, did it truly level the truck out or is the rear still a little higher than the front. I had one installed last Saturday but the rear measures 3/4" - 1" higher. I tried to see if maybe the shop "forgot" to install the top plate that goes on top of the strut but I can't see it. Anyone have pictures of their front strut with the top plate installed? What do you guys think, level enough?i

I installed my 2.5" level myself. Mine sits about 1" higher in the rear with the 2" block in the rear. If you want it to be "dead level" take the 2" block off of the back.

Hey guys, got my truck last week, put RC 2.5 kit on(just the front though. Truck looks like it sits lvl but actually measures out to be 1 inch higher in the front. I know adding the rear 2 block will fix the measurements.

 

What I'm wondering is if any of you that only did the front have the same measurement difference but kept it like that due to the look of lvl, or if yours is actually closer to lvl?

 

My truck also is a 2015 Z-71 off road crew cab 1500

Cancel that, I finished it real late last night. Looking at it more today just now I see that it does sit slightly higher in front. Wonder why some of y'all's sits lvl with just the 2.5 in the front while some dont

I installed the ReadyLift 2 1/4" kit into my front end. It's a 1 1/2" spacer on the top and a 3/4" spacer on the bottom. Brought it up but just under level. Perfect! It rides the same and no noticeable MPG change.

Advancedrescue depends on what it was before u put it on.. mine was 36 in front and 39 in rear .. I see all the time where there always different.

Yeah my truck now sits 39 inches high in front, 38 in rear. So I guess I'll be putting the RC blocks on the back. Here a picture I took of the it sitting next to my dads 2015 high country today

I just discovered that even though our fenders may measure that our trucks are level most of us are actually sitting nose high. I took some pictures to upload later, but right now I have over .5" rake that means my rear end should be higher by .5".

If I measure from ground to cab at the front and back of the cab it measures .75" higher in the front. So this means that approx. 1.5" of rake keeps the body of the truck actually level.

This is what I'm talking about, so I guess if you just want to make sure your wheel wells look level then measure by the fenders, I personally want my cab level. The ground I'm sitting on in this picture isn't perfectly level, I just used it to demonstrate.

So it looks like a 1.5 inch level would probably come close to making the cab level?

Yes my friend with a new silverado put my old 1.5" level on and he is sitting about dead level. My truck has sagged rear leafs and with just over 2" in the front my cab sits .75" higher at the front.

Yeah or if ordering the 2.5 lift install the 2 rear block that comes with the RC kit. I'm out of town still but plan on adding it when I get back home to see how it turns out. Or getting under it with a jack and bringing the rear up one inch to see how it looks before I unbolt anything.

Projectsummit, I think mine trucks like yours in a way. The cab looks level but you can visually tell if looking, and measure the wheel wells and there's about an inch difference. My front is the one sitting higher though by an inch when measuring the wheel well. I will see how it looks with the back higher when I get home, my end up taking it back off if I don't like it

    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions? 
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!  
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?. 
    • He is not saying that an SAE *W20 will have more viscosity than a *W40 due to MORE VII polymers. He is saying that although multiple *W40 may post in the PDS the same or similar 100 C and 150 C viscosities that the blenders choice of modifier TYPE and AMOUNT to get his chosen base to grade will not give identical real world viscosities in shear and at temperature. All will pass the SII test but not all will pass the 100 C HTHS (unpublished value) testing the blender does and relies on to get the required by law "percentage improvement' referenced to his last great work.    Tis the problem with the lie. Once told others are required to support it. 
    • I have a `25, 1500 that auto sets on incline. Never knew that at first. I have the electronic shifter. Just think if it didn`t do that? Unlike a mechanical shift that you can muscle out of park, how would you get this thing out? That would be a problem.   What I found out later is, I don`t have to push the button to release. Just put it in gear.   Setting parameters? Don`t know if it`s possible.
