What to grab when closing doors?!

Haha I feel like half you people are actually reading the thread and half of you are reading the first post and firing off comments. This isn't about finger prints. Yes, I do use my truck for construction, yes I care about how the thing looks. This is my first GMC and I am simply pointing out that it is the ONLY truck I've seen without a grab pillar, which is weird because trucks are made to be rugged and when my hands are filthy and I go to close the door, the paint will be taking a beating. I've resorted to just using my elbow to close the door. To half the people that actually responded with thoughtful concerns, thanks.

I think the last trucks made with a grab pillar were the Dodges up to like 2002? Some didn't have it though and I think the purpose was more to match the windows? I don't remember any other trucks having them.

Not to beat a dead horse any more but look at the B Pillars. All latest models...

First saw this question on Camaro 5 forum. Laughed but thought well maybe a new sports car. But really laugh on a truck forum. Now I am OCD on cars and trucks. Heck my exhaust on my 09 is still shinny and I'm in the pasture a lot.. That my friend is ocd.

 

For door closing, I have used my hand, elbow, butt, hip, knee, foot (only with clean boots ) etc...it just depends on the situation. IE hands full with a couple of cool ones ( Dr Peppers of course)requires elbow, hip, knee or foot etc...

 

Most paint damage comes from improper cleaning/washing. If you are serious about this question, I guess you know about the two bucket wash and proper drying etc...and any swirl or scratch damage can be easily removed with a light buffing once a year.

 

My question back is what do you use to cover the center console to keep elbow/arm dirt and oils off the leather while resting such on the console?

Well I laughed when I opened this thread. I was thinking what is wrong with these people and now I watch to see where I grab the door and if it leaves any finger prints when I close the door. Thanks for giving me another thing to worry about! Lol
