Cigarette lighter

Trying to find a lighter that works in the power
outlets in my 2014 Silverado but not having any luck. They will fit into the
power outlet, a little lose, but will not stay in the heat position when pushed
in. It's like GM build the power outlet a little bigger than needed.

Another thing that really gets me, they have the
ashtray door but there is no ashtray available, same as with my 05 Dodge ram.

I can't say on the 2014 but my 2011 had no actual cigar lighter outlet, only power outlets. I had to buy the accessory cigar lighter

socket at the dealer and install it. It was a pain in the a$$. I wanted the cigar lighter outlet to plug in a device that latches like a

cigar lighter element does.

Everyone worried about the value of a truck once it leave the dealer lot... good way to devalue it even more by smoking in it!!! lol

The smokers package has an ash tray that fits in the cup holder. Kinda cheesy if you ask me since the one is still there in the dash like you pointed out.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't smoke but I don't see any area that could be mistaken for an ashtray in my truck...

Its a ashtray... shaped like a cup with a hinged lid... that fits in the cup holder... included if your vehicle has the "smokers package"

Have a look see at the link below. Its a GM accessory. Two different part numbers, depending on buckets or split bench seats.

Hmm...that link didnt work...try these part nubmers:

22778446 for split bench.

22948330 for bucket seats.

I'll take it a step farther. Cigarette lighters are not standard in today's vehicles, much like ashtrays aren't. Their popularity has declined dramatically over the years, thus automakers chose to make them options. Many smokers I know still don't smoke in their vehicle. They either stop or chew the gum or something until they can. Yes, a car that smells of smoke is a hard sell, regardless of how well it is cleaned.

On another note, the one poster made the remark about value and stated his opinion tongue-in-cheek. For the OP to go off on a rant about disable vet, fighting for freedoms, etc has no place here.

actually the power outlets are designed to not work with lighter, the heat and amp draw are more than they can take do not use them as such by holding it in or you will ruin them. and possibly burn your wiring or worse. You have to get a real cigarette lighter outlet. either oem or aftermarket and properly connect it, correct wire size most important.
