Halogen & LED Headlight Bulb Upgrades

Thanks, and yes they recommended them. No "warm up time" to worry about, and super bright according to them. They are on back order till the 17th however. I'll post pictures and my impressions when done. On a side note, this past weekend the family and I jumped into the truck to go see Holiday lights we heard about. Driving in the middle of no where, my wife looked at me and said, " for such a badass truck, your lights suck"! I just smiled, said your right honey and knew the replacements were ordered already.

Please do as I think this might just be the answer for me as well. Love the story about the wife. Mine made a comment a while back about " I thought this thing had the vette engine in it, I can barely hear it running." So I nailed it and she spilled her drink all down her shirt! Still paying for that one but it was worth it. Wish I had it on video! Would be a great share with the grandchildren.

Coach Hill, I think he is using these in the high beams of a Silverado which has separate lights for high and low beams. Your Sierra uses the same bulb for high and low with a shutter to control the cutoff. From everything I have read no one has found an adequate LED or halogen solution for the Sierra's. Only thing better than stock is HID's, but I may be wrong.

You could be totally correct. Like Moto stated earlier, I tried the Putco LED kit and the output was better than stock IMO but the beam I could never get to have the sharp cutoff without the little triangles above it. I was interested in these as they seem to be more adjustable within the light housing. Going to call VLED and get their take on it. I'm really close to just sending my lights off and get them retrofitted with a higher quality projector and Osram bulbs. I love my truck! When it's not dark!

He could even be using these in the projectors for his low beams. The new LMZ bulbs are designed to be adjustable length so that they can be used in projectors. The video that VLEDs has on their site showing off these new lights has the lights placed in a D2S setting so they would have to be in a projector.

 

These are better designed for projectors. I'm waiting to see how others like them as I'm getting FXRs retrofitted into my truck and I am waiting for someone else to try them out and then later down the road I may change from HIDs to LED headlights. Then I will have every light being LED

Just got off the phone with Jake from VLED's. Very cool guy. For sure knows what hes talking about. I ended up cancelling the LED kit I had ordered yesterday and went with their H11 HID 5k 300lm kit. http://www.vleds.com/hid-headlights/hid-conversion-kits/h11/h11-morimoto-xb35-hid-system.html

 

Very knowledgable and I didn't feel like I was being sold a lone of crap. Will Post pictures hopefully by the end of the week with the new lights in.

So...If I got this for the Sierra, it'd be the 9006 kit? Prefer NOT to have any hassles like others have had

They will all be the same as any other filiment bulb. They just change the gasses around and tint the glass to achieve different colors. The lumen output will all be the same or similat

I love them 4 real.. don't need highs with the these lights so much better. And with the new led fogs it's just a awesome up grade for little over $100. I posted pics in my build thread. I can post them here once it get dark i erased them from my phone. .. im really happy with the lights. Can't believe there that much better than the OEM

I have tried them, they work pretty well. The only issue i had was with the fan on the back is a little too big for the bulb access cap, so i had to sand it down a bit for it to fit. I got a pair of the projector headlights which were not able to fit these in or else i would have used them.
