That is a good idea MFLeury. I just read ever page on this thread. Now I'm considering Amps. Good lord you people make me spend money. Is there a place here to list the OEM stuff or Craig's list the best place. I'm guessing they sell for around 275. Anyone know the best place to snag Amps. No one gives mil/Leo discounts lol.

Do you have the 6" OEM running boards? I have my OEM's listed for sale on here, but I have gotten much more traffic through Craigslist. I've had them listed for maybe 2 weeks. 6 offers through CL, with 3 of the offers for my asking price of $350. Meeting with the first guy who offered me tomorrow to sell them.

Oh boy I just dropped the hammer on my zero percent interest credit card for some amps. Hope to install them next weekend.

The wiring still goes through the drivers side floor correct.

If I'm not mistaken there is a groment there already under the carpet or do you use the supplied one and drill a new hole. Anyone spare some guidance.

Does anyone know if the OEM Escalade/Yukon XL boards will fit our trucks? Mounts look similar, but not sure about the end caps.

I got mine from autoanything.com so I could get overnight shipping. They price matched another company that had them for like $100 cheaper than everyone else.

I love my Amps(:

Ps, I sold my stock 6" rectangular chrome steps for $250 cash local pickup.

Just realized you already ordered the steps [emoji28] really should finish reading a thread before I say anything haha. But yes the wiring will go through the driver side floor. You can cut a hole in the grommet already there (it's for the brake line) and run your wires through there. I personally drilled, but I did that cause I don't mind drilling and my drill was closer than my knife [emoji23]

I would not bet my cash on them, you will still need something to control them. Unless there is stationary ones you were referring to?

I ordered the plug and play AMP boards Thursday for $1050 shipped to my house. They arrived today, my son and I put them on and they are awesome.

How did I live without these before?.

Installation was easy with the plug and play setup. I installed driver side and controller/harness, my Son (11 y/o) installed passenger side himself.

2 hours and we were done.

I recommend these over sliding in and out, as my 5 ft. tall wife has done for over 30 years on all of my trucks.

For those with the AMP boards, I have watched a few online videos. When they are open do they seem to sit too close to the ground on a stock height Silverado? Would they open and hit a curb?

Thanks

I have been concerned a few times because I do like to park with one side to the curb. But no, it has not hit. I think it's a little higher than it looks. And my wife say it is just the right height...besides, if it were to touch, it just wouldn't fold down further. They have will stop if there is resistance.

I liked my AMPs so much I ordered my Dad a set. They came in today so I installed them without him knowing. He got quite a surprise when he opened the door.

Second set I've done and only took an hour this time.
I didn't drill hole in floor for the 2 wires, I just punched a small hole with an ice pick in the grommet that was already there. Then sealed with a small dab of silicone.

Another tip is do the wiring first, then you only have to get under each side once. Lay all the bolts and arms out where they go before hand.

Clean underside where LED's mount with alcohol after wiring is done but dont mount LED until it is connected and heat shrink is complete.

Honestly, if you do it this way you can do it in an hour pretty easy.

Plug and play is the only way to go.

That is why I went ahead and bought my Dad a set.

I got a different coupon code AFTER my 1st order, but saved 10% on Dad's boards.

Closer to black friday the price will probably be around that also for those that want to wait.

They have excellent customer service!
