Sunglasses Holder

To summarize the thread:

 

Some sunglasses will fit, others won't.

Is that something different on the 2016's? I have a 2015 LT and there is no clip in the holder ...

no - 2014-2016. It's a little black plastic piece ( not really a clip) inside the sunglass holder on the upper right side. It's the cause of a rattle for many folks. And the little plastic part does nothing. There is a post somewhere that has details and pictures..

basically wire frame or AVIATOR type glasses fit well (I have many pairs of maui's, costa del mar, ray ban and randolph engineering.

 

I also have a couple pairs of Costa thicker frame glasses for fishing and daily use, THEY DON'T FIT!! I was upset, but all the other cool things my truck has/does make me forget about it. My girl thinks I look cooler in aviator type glasses anyway - always mirrored!

Has anyone modded the sunglass holder to fit anything else cleaver? It is apparent that it is pretty much useless for almost everyone. lol

2016 Sierra holder fits my clip-on sunglasses just fine.

Great news for all the sunglass holder complainers. MAJOR CHANGE for 2018 the sunglass holder is much bigger LOL. GM must have actually been listening. You older model owners can probably order up a 2018 overhead console and trade yours out BAM. 2018 pic below aint she cute?
