Hey Phil,
 
The 84288042 is backordered all over with no ETA. Is the only difference between the 8042 and 8045 the chrome handle? Do you know if the 8045 will fit a Silverado?

Hi there,

 

I'm brand new to this forum....although I have been reading through this topic tirelessly trying to figure out everything I need to upgrade my truck. I apologize in advance for any duplicate questions, but I was hoping for any/all advice in regards to part numbers. I have a 2018 Silverado LT double cab Z71. My interior is black with the carbon fiber trim. The info I have gathered is that I'll need:

 

84288040 - Console Assembly: w/o Denali, w/o rear DVD, black

84092079 - Upper Trim Panel: w/110-volt outlet, synthesis (reverse tartan - carbon fiber)

23467516 - Side Trim: Left w/o e-assist, black

22817347 - Side Trim: Right w/o e-assist, black

22776807 - Front Mounting Bracket

84022323 - Cable: Black to Brown

19119050 - Cable: Black to Grey

84022315 - Cable: Green to Grey

11609982 - Bolts (2)

Quick question.   Will an iPhone 8 Plus fit on the mat that is in these consoles?  Specifically looking at the 84288040 console....  I tried to put my iPhone on my dad's 2016 LTZ console and the phone did not lay down on the mat...  I do not have a case on the phone either....

iPhone XR in a Spec case will not lay flat but charges fine with the Qi charger installed in the console lid. Charging indicator in the display indicates charge as does the phone.

XR is 3.2" wide in the Spec case. iPhone 8 plus is 3.07" wide without a case according to Apple.

I am right there with you.  I have the exact truck that I just purchased and couldn't find one I liked with the bucket seats.  Ultimately I chose exterior color over the center console.

 

I have watched Phil's Youtube video on this at least three times and now just need to find the correct console.

Nope. Phone is too wide. Any plus models or the XS Max will not fit. But it will charge with the 2018 charging module/lid. I have the XS Max with the Apple leather case and it charges.

Yes. I can order these now from a supplier. Current prices are:

$750 - Console
$75 - USB Cables
$150 - Harness

$975 total - shipped anywhere in the US.

Due to a small handful of damaged consoles, the price will be increasing a little but will include insurance.

I don’t know what 84288040 will get ya... but everything else looks right.

I can get these now from a supplier complete. With the wireless charging lid.

What color console comes in the trucks with the Cocoa / Dune interior?  Would a black one look strange?  Or are they all black?

These are the parts for a cocoa interior. The main console piece(most expensive one) is on back order till god knows when. Good luck

      There was talk over the last couple of years that the contract to build these trucks between GM and International would not be renewed.  International moved production of all their other trucks besides the companion CV model out of the Springfield plant some time ago when they opened their San Antonio plant.  That left Springfield only building the Silverado Medium Duty, International CV Series, and some Express/Savanna long wheelbase cutaways.  International also put the plant up for sale some time ago.  This all answered my earlier question as to why GM and International did nothing with these trucks since they were introduced, as they had basically become a market 'placeholder' with a finite life.    The Silverado Medium Duty/International CV trucks were interesting combination of a GM powertrain, electrical system, and K2XX Silverado cab with an International chassis that was supposedly designed for a step-van type vehicle they never produced.  They were manufactured in International's Springfield plant along with the IH MV series initially.  When first introduced, there was much talk that the Silverado Medium Duty/CV would eventually get a gasoline engine option along with other upgrades and GM and IH would work on a class 6/7 joint venture truck.  This was before VW bought Navistar out, after that happened no more was said.  Draw your own conclusions...   About the time talk started that the GM/IH joint venture was not going to be renewed, rumors started that GM would develop a new line of medium duty trucks themselves.  The story is the new trucks will be part of the next generation HD's due in 2028, and will still feature a 'straight rail' chassis design that the current medium duty has.  GM views this as a desirable feature that differentiates their truck from the competition.  A gasoline engine option is also expected.  As the current Silverado Medium Duty remains in production until September 2026 and there is still a lot of inventory available do not expect any official word for some time.   I believe GM remains committed to their successful partnership with Isuzu, and all the LCF models will still be available from Chevy Commercial dealers.  Isuzu is on the cusp of opening a new large plant in South Carolina and there is also speculation that this may result in new product for both Isuzu and Chevy Commercial dealers.

      I have a 2026 2500 HD Ultimate. My phone app says there’s a software update available. It’s something about improved battery management and something to do with the running boards. I follow the instructions for the update but the “Check for Updates” option is greyed out in my settings menu. Has anyone else seen this? How did you resolve it? The help message just says “see your dealer” if the download doesn’t work. I’m just trying to save a trip.

      Fuel mileage?  That's all how you use your right foot.  Exhaust will give you sound.   Stock exhaust 5.3 is 2.75" diameter piping.     If the truck is nice and worth putting some $$ into it, I'd go for a Corsa catback.  I had one on my 2019 old body 5.3 and it was just perfect.  Zero drone, just driving around and cruising on the highway you'd think it was stock, but when you opened it up it was like a Camaro with the factory dual mode.  Corsa bumps their catback to 3in diameter.
