Rusty shocks - GMT900

Typical rancho junk oem shocks. if you live in the north this is even more likely to occur.

You need dem Bilsteins. So far mine have held up pretty good.

You can see a little of one. Still pretty shiny.

38k miles in these. Want to keep all 4 corners the same brand and the fronts are still in good shape. I don't mind the rancho shocks compared to my old 2000 (added bilsteins) it rides similar in the rear

I noticed scuffing on mine this fall, haven't crawled under to see what this winter has done but I'm sure it's similar. The OE shocks are junk, any brand name replacement will do better. I'm hoping to replace this next year so unless something has a mechanical failure I'm not replacing it.

Mine aren't as bad as yours, but they probably will be in two years. They're already starting to rust in a couple places, and I've only got 25k on my truck. And I'm sure the winter we've had this year is going to make them rust even faster.

It's just the ranchos. Mine are 2 years old and look terrible

+1 to above comments. Mine look about that same after that many miles as well.

The oem Z71's on my 2010 were all black, and they look a lot worst with all of the surface rust but are still functioning fine.

I had a set of RS5000 on my 87 years and years ago that did the same thing and all I did was sand them down and re-painted them.
