Sierra Painted Fender / Wheel Arch Moldings

Hey everyone, new to the forum and recently switched back to GM... I want to get the painted moldings for my 2016 but the parts dept at the dealership looked em up and thinks the front moldings on the 2016s are different than the 2015s as his system showed them only for 14-15 but had the rears listed for 14-16.

Can anyone confirm that the 2015s fronts are identical to the 16s and that the moldings will work.

Unfortunately I don't think the filler piece between the fender and the bumper match up correctly. I am in the same boat as you and would really like to just order them and be done with it. I don't like the idea of driving around without the trim for a week while I am waiting for the body shop to smooth them out and spray them but that looks like the only option at the moment.

Well I ended up pulling mine off and having a body shop paint them. I couldn't find much info on how exactly they were attached, came off etc so I took a few pics in hopes that it may help someone out in the future. There are also some screws and bolts to remove but they are easy to find.

I'm extremely happy with how they turned out! Last one is a before/after with different lighting of course but you get the idea... Also made the GMC emblem on the grille and tailgate white as well, now bigger tires and I will be done for a while...

Looks great Connor! Do you know if the shop did anything specific with the paint or extra clear coats to make them hold up to chipping from rocks and road debris?? My local paint shop told me it would be a waist of his time and my money because they would just look bad after a few months.

I like the looks of the painted moldings. Anyone done a blue one? Maybe I'll be the first??

Thanks! The guy used some sort of auto paint adhesion promoter. Said he uses this anytime on plastic. He also sanded them some. Gave me a lifetime guarantee that they will not chip off and only charged $250...

Looks great! I will be doing the same in the next couple of weeks. The body shop will be doing the tailgate handle, emblem and fender trim for $400.

I did look at the 2014-2016 2500HD and it looks like the fenders match up perfectly to the 2016 1500 fenders. If anyone wants to confirm that the part number for the summit white fender trim is 22943038.

White trucks look so much better with painted arches IMHO. On the other trucks I like the looks either way - they look good painted and black.

Nice looking trucks fellas!

Go for it! Just get a competent body shop that knows what they're doing and will apply Bulldog Adhesion Promoter or similar. 97 Indigo Blue Tahoe lasted 9 years with Monochromatic bumpers, grille, mirrors and door handles with just negligible paint chips on front bumper and grille.
