Sierra Painted Fender / Wheel Arch Moldings

Went for service today and I noticed a white Sierra with painted fender trim (see pics attached). Talked to the parts guy and they are genuine GMC Accessories which are now available for order. Dealer list price is $695 for a set. Part numbers I have are in Post #7 below. The guy did tell me that they're only offered in the traditional colors, no metallic colors available. He wasn't sure if that's temporary or permanent.

In person, it's hard to say how they look. It was raining and the trucks was parked so close to others that I couldn't get any good views from distance. However I did notice on the white an ever so slight difference between the fender and body colors. Reminds me of the slight difference one might see on a white GMT-900 between the door molding & body. And one thing that scares me about that is on my GMT-900, the sun started to dull/yellow my white moldings after about 3-4 years. For now, I'm sticking with factory black plastic until I see more trucks with painted.

Please post pics if you see any other GMC's with painted moldings!

I did some digging around the accessory sites and found the pic attached below. Looks like GMC is officially calling them Fender Flares. Part numbers I've come across so far are:

Summit White, Front and Rear Set (w/ RPO GAZ, Z88) #22943037
Sonoma Red, Front and Rear Set (w/ RPO GCE, Z88) #22943041
Quicksilver, Front and Rear Set (w/ RPO GAN, Z88) #22943043
White Diamond, Front and Rear Set (w/ RPO GBN, Z88) #22943045
Primed Finish, Front and Rear Set (w/ RPO Z88) #22943047
(primed = unpainted)
http://www.gmpartsonline.net/ and http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ both have them for $500/set. Personally, I've had better experiences dealing with GMPartsOnline.net

What trim level is the truck you took pics of and is it a Z71? first 2014 truck I have seen with pin stripes.

Those things are ugly to begin with but there's no way id pay that for some painted plastic. Seems they are indeed removeable.

SLT. Not a Z71. Stripe is definitely a cheesy dealer add-on (it's gold in color, yet the truck has chrome everywhere & a black interior)

I was waiting to see the painted fender trim and this confirms the black looks better. I think the black defines the fenders and the price seems steep.

I do not think pin stripes complement this new body style.

I am curious if any of you have ordered a truck with the body color wheel arch moldings? I see it as a $650 option on the GMC website. If you have, can you share pics? Thanks in advance!

They look good painted. When I bought mine in oct. Gmc didn't have painted fender moldings so I got a chevy instead. I didn't want a $50,000 with black plastic fender moldings that fade over time not to mention it's a pain to wax around. I'm glad they are offering them painted now.
