I figured this was the most fitting section...

Has anyone bought one of these on here or have you seen them on a truck?

They are pretty pricey but I'm tempted to buy one, just wondering everyone's thoughts...

They also have different sizes available and wasn't real sure what would be fitting.

Both! I drive on the beach quite a bit, sand is easy to get stuck in... dragging a stump from one end of the ranch to the other, things like that.

But for the most part I can get those jobs done with out one of these so it would be for looks.

Heres the one i run on my truck every day.

It has pulled out many of stumps in the past , vehicles out of snow, and protected me when a chick rear ended my old truck. The hook went right through her license plate on her saturn vue.

When I bought my new truck i wanted one of the huge hooks mainly for looks and added protection / durability. The one problem however is if you have the backup sensors like i do, the large hook is picked up by them and the damn thing beeps constantly when backing up or it will just say sensor blocked..

So i keep the big hook inside the truck in case i need to use it for stumps / recovery..

Heres my big hook. I got it off amazon.

You will break your truck before you break this hook!

I didn't even think about the sensors, thats a good point. Maybe I should look into a d-ring design

For the rear I'd prefer a shackle or d ring design. I'd like to have one but I don't leave anything in my hitch because it fills up with dirt.

I think that hook is for someone who's compensating for something,Way overkill.

There are 3 different sizes, I wasn't planning on getting that exact one

I like to use a d ring shackle. I keep the portion in the receiver all the time. The shackle stays in the cab unless I need it. Otherwise it bounces around and makes noise
