Chrome Door Moldings

that would defeat the whole purpose of putting them back on. he is trying to have some chrome on there. so putting the eblems back on and plasti dipping and taking the chrome side molding off would be counter productive...

I say keep em. I DO think they look BETTER combined with the chrome trim under the windows tho. And just curious, is that window tint super illegal where u live? I might make it 2 days before I got a ticket around here, cops are the only ones allowed to have windows that dark here apparently....

lol is ok, Anyway, I WOULD put the badges back on, but I would plasti dip those black as well! Plastidip all the chrome in fact. Red truck with all black trim and wheels is a great look.

I took the chrome handles and mirror caps off!! Don't think I would put them back on.

Ya, I think the caps are too much. But just the wheels and handles is not bad. So ruling out chrome handles, I would still vote after.

question, did you take the 6.2L emblem off of your doors? i thought you had put them on there? i still vote on take the side moldings off and put the silverado emblem back on. again just my 0.02.

Yeah I took the 6.2L emblems off. I just decided everything would look cleaner with it ALL off. The biggest reason it took everything off is that I makes for easier waxing. I hate to have to clean wax out from around emblems and no matter how careful I am there's always some that gets in there. Being OCD, that's just one less thing to worry about.

lol I know exactly what you mean... I hate it when I accidently get wax on any black plastics... I started to tap them off just for that reason because once wax gets on there it is almost impossible to get it off.

My truck (WT) was stripped of chrome. I added the chrome mirror covers, handles and door moldings and step bars and in my opinion, I like this look better. It is just a matter of choice. Chrome is a plus factor because it doesn't show the wax marks when it gets on the black items.

I'm planning on removing all chrome from my AT double cab. If anyone is interested in the mouldings for cheap or to swap mirror caps n door handle covers or window trim for onyx(gloss) black PM me please !

Does anyone have a how to to remove the chrome strips on the doors?
