If first digit of s/n is '1' - it's US built.

If first digit of s/n is '3' - it's MEX built

('2' is/was Canada, but GM not currently building pickups in Canada)

2015 Silverado DBL Cab, built in Roanoke, IN

Roanoke may be closer, but GM still calls it Fort Wayne :)

2015 Sierra SLT D/C, built @ Fort Wayne plant. Truck is only a week old and have just rolled over 600k only issue noted so far is the high frequency chirp it makes intermittently when in 4/Auto.

USA! USA!! USA!!! :flag:

I lived in Indiana for 11 years, great people up there. Shame how many jobs have been lost in the automotive industry in that area - it's been devastating to many families and communities. So when I saw the Ft. Wayne sticker on the truck I was looking at, it kinda sealed the deal for me.

So far it appears my Hoosier buddies did a damn fine job with my truck, and I don't expect any trouble out of it! If any of ya'll are on here, THANK YOU!

Can't find a similar site for Silao plant, but external info indicates that currently it builds 1500 crew only.

VW pulled out of mexico after a few years, they found that there number of recalls and poor build quality went through the roof

and they never looked back!

2014 High Country 5.3L, built in Silao Mexico. Rear-end metal-on-metal "banging" sound when I accelerate, coast for a bit, then re-accelerate (been to Stealership twice / given BS TSB). Also had a problem with the drivers seat "clicking & moving" in corners (fixed via a TSB for this issue). I've got 21,500 miles now, and have noticed no other major issues.
