Well, I just had an issue (actually twice now). I have a 2014 GMC and the door locks will not lock, nor will it lock with the fob. Yesterday, I had to lock the back doors by pushing the knobs down, and lock the front door with the key! Would not unlock with the fob. Had to unlock with the key. Lo and behold, later, it would work. Anyone have this issue before?

One other time it did this and it was in a thunderstorm, thought it was just a fluke..... now it did it again and was quite a pain.

I guess I will have to make an appointment with the dealer. Anyone have this issue before? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem - 2014 Sierra. About 4 times a week it doesn't start and says to Service Theft Deterrent. Been to the dealer and they say it's not thawing any code, so there's nothing they can do! Writing GM tomorrow - we'll get this solved.

Mine has done it several times now. The drivers door is the only one with a key hole, so have to push/pull the lock knob on the door for each door, then lock the drivers door with the key. Have an appointment next week. Guess we'll see. Thanks.

Well it has happened to me as well. Twice in 1 day. (last night) The truck is scheduled for some other work (recalls) and horrible headlight performance at the dealership next week. I mentioned it to them when they called to set up an appointment and they said they would check into it. The first time it happened i had to use the remote start from inside the truck. The next time i had to flip the key 180 degrees and it started. If they/ figure anything out i will update for others to know.

Crap, you might wish you had a "theft encouragement" system in that truck instead!

My 2014 Sierra has been doing this for weeks. About half of the time. Takes 20+ turns to start truck. It all started the day of my first oil change and dealer updated my software. Dealership kept my truck for several days. They think its fixed but it seems to have gotten even worse. Any known solution to this yet?

I may have missed it but has anyone tried using the other key when this happens? Could just be the transmitter in the key going bad.

The door lock issue may or not be related, no clue there. Mine has failed to unlock the doors once also but hasn't happened again.

This happened to me once, the dealer towed it, ran it on the computer, no codes, but guess what!? They had to tighten the negative battery cable, it was loose, and never happened again, crossing my fingers.....

Had the same issue happen. First time was a couple of weeks ago and today it happened twice. First time just kept turning key and it finally went. Today hit door lock and unlock and it started. Doesn't give one much confidence especially when it was -20 today and winter is just starting.

I had the same issue and when I brought it to the dealer they said it was because of my LED license plate bulbs. I laughed at them and brought it to another dealer who did some kind of update and it never happened again.

A shot in the dark here. Similar problem with my trans am one of the shock sensors was acting up did some research I had to get into car lock doors roll windows up put key in ignition turn to on not run keep in this position for a couple minutes and it clears codes. Might work. Good luck.

Happen to me today on 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500
It wouldn't start with key. I had to use remote.

Everything works good now...I shut truck off for 10 minutes and all is Well!

About a month ago, it happened to me one time and the radio display was blank at the same time. Next time I drove the truck and since then I haven't seen it come back. I think it was caused by the Range AFM disabler I had plugged in, because it also caused service stabilitrak and brake assist messages too.
