DENALI FRONT BUMPER PAINT PEELING OFF

Recommended Posts

As a benchmark, I live in Anchorage, AK where the state/municipalities spread sand and gravel on the roads 8-months of the year for traction (but don't apply salt) and I had 3M Clearbra installed within the 1st 100 miles on the entire front end of my white '14 Denali. That was 14 months ago and today I have 0-chips on the front painted parts , 8500 miles later.

Whats on your roof?

More along the lines of $100 just to take the bumper off and remove the sensors. Depending on if he wants to strip it, primer, sealer basecoat and clearcoat, that might turn into $450-500 job.

Since this is a problem on the new trucks I recommend people go that way and clear it with THIS clearcoat: http://www.armorcoatusa.com/ I did my truck in this, its the best and strongest clearcoat one can buy, never have chips again.

I just emailed them for a price on it. May I ask you what you paid?

Thanks

They just emailed me $159.00 here in the states. We have something similar here that can be used on or under topcoats. I used it last year on a truck I painted but have to look into if it as tuff as whar you recommend. Thanks again.

I checked mine again yesterday. My front bumper has at least 100 chips, the plastic above it, and the hood have 0. Its limited to only the bumper.

I had the same issue with paint chips in the bumper. Had a dealer supposedly fix which they just used touch up paint. Touch up paint did not match and had it out with the dealer. Contacted GM customer service with multiple emails and PM's on here to GM Customer Service. Finally had the front bumper painted under warranty. Now I just have to wait 30 days to have the Xpel paint protection done. Meanwhile I am not driving on the highway or driving much until then. I know most guys can't do that but I ain't taking chances.

I have a 2015 All Terrain & have 15-20 chips on the front painted portion of the bumper .. I took it to Carl's GMC in Stuart, FL & Shuamcher GMC in Palm Beach Gardens, where I purchased it & they both did NOTHING for me. I am currently working with https://www.facebook.com/gmc to find a resolution. We cannot be the only few experiencing this issue. Please let me know if anyone gets a resolution to this problem & I will do the same. This is unacceptable on a $50k truck !!!

Did they give you a recall number or anything? I'm still fighting to have mine fixed. please let me know. Thanks !!

if you get a clear bra you will not have any issues... GM will not do anything for getting rock chips on your bumper.. even if they repaint it its just going to chip again

Obviously the paint is not as strong as it was 8 or 10 years ago. GM knows this. They should spend the 5 bucks it costs them to put paint protection on the surfaces that are prone to damage. I don't think I should have to peel out another grand to do it on a $50,000 truck. I have 10 times more damage to my paint in a year than I did in 8 years with my previous Denali.

i'm not paying for a clear bra either. GMC can pay for it and put it on since they decide the bumper paint should chip and the rest is fine.

There is no recall number for paint issues. I just complained to GM Service on here, email GM Customer service as well as GMC, post up on their Facebook and Twitter pages.....you will get help.

Your previous Denali was not the "professional grade" that this one is.
